Yes - whole new images. I never assume I'm going to see them all at the time I'm taking the photos.

When I was choosing which printer suits my needs more I made a lot of research and many of video or blog on the subjects was marketing driven, a famous photographer pushing for a certain brand of printer and later finding that it was sponsored by this brand, and in store unable to see a difference in quality printing except for the kind of paper use. At the end made a purchase decision based on the price and availability of ink in store. Do a have the best printer, I don't know, do he give great quality print yes.

That's what matters - I don't sell printers/ink/paper and quite deliberately have no direct business connections with the makers of the kit I test. I too try and read who might be pulling the strings when I see reviews ;-)

Excellent, Keith - a total revelation. Ive just downloaded Epson Photoprint Layout since it didn't come when I installed the printer - what a difference that makes and just the job! Im learning so much from your videos I cant thank you enough. Onwards and upwards.

Maestro Keith, Thank you for demonstrating how a virtuoso can print an excellent panoramic image, helping us non-virtuosos to improve our technique. Many of the details you mention were learned by trial and error over long experience. This demo tours all of my decades of amateur color photo printing experience and more, putting it all together from cropping onscreen to successful ink-on-paper. Makes me want to cut down some larger paper and feed it to my Canon printer that can handle 12 x 26 inch cut sheets. Greatly appreciate your taking the time to prepare this demo/tutorial.

Thanks - there are a few suppliers, but it's not as widely available as 'normal' sheets.

Wish I could find out where to buy panoramic papers here in Sweden, it would make my life so much easier...However, I'd like to have them in 1200×470 mm size

At ~19"x48" you'll need a larger printer - 24" roll paper would be the way I'd go That said if you could reduce the length to 44" you can use 44" paper on a 44" printer cut off to whatever height you wanted. I've never seen anyone offer 4 foot x 2 foot cut sheet...

Thanks - printer .ppd file specifies 1200mm (the max custom page length if you create one)

The Epson Print Layout does not recognize the 8500/8550, according to Epson, it's not supported in with that app. How are you getting it to work? thanks

Nevermind, I figured it out. It only works when the printer is hooked up via USB - not WiFi.

Yes - that 'compatibility list' is wrong - that's what I'm referring to in the video... Also, in my review it was connected via wi-fi www.northlight-images.co.uk/epson-et-8550-printer-review/ The only issue was when I accidentally used the airprint driver and then it won't work

The printer does have a premium luster media setting profile. I have the printer and just checked to verify through the Lightroom print module and it's there.

No the ET-8500 doesn't have a 'premium lustre' media setting - this is the setting set in the paper type via the printer menu - Premium semigloss is the closest Lightroom has nothing to do with this - there may be paper profiles installed and settings you can use, but check the options on the printer display itself when you put a sheet of paper in it? It is possible you have a different et-8500 model variant but this one does not.

@@KeithCooper the printer has utra premium photo luster as well, i just checked paper type before sending this message. I got the printer last friday and set it up. once i was finished with all the downloads and updating it. it downloaded the epson paper profiles to my surface pro. Maybe you need to update to latest software.

Thanks - What region did you did you get this printer in? Does it have this 'Luster' paper type setting on the printer display? This is a media setting - not a profile Firmware is the latest ET-8500 version OM11M

@@KeithCooper I live in NC! yes it has ultra premium photo luster on screen display. written ultra prem. photo luster. I updated the software when prompted and i dowloaded the drivers from the epson site which install all the epson paper profiles that i have access to. My software says ON11MB is the latest

Interesting - there is no mention of these papers in the version I have here Another international Epson difference to file away! ON11MB here... I'll ask Epson how this affects icc profiles I've created

Thanks It is not - it is a whole new printer. I'm due to get one to test as soon as Epson UK have one to send me ;-) It is an A3+ photo printer - six dye ink K/C/M/Y/Lc/Lm No scanner

Informative video as always Keith👍 and I have already noticed the cropping to fit the image on the paper size on my ET8550 but not a problem, as i am in the learning phase😇 It was annoying though for a few photographs but the experience will teach me, allowing room for manoeuvre.

Can you see quality difference in the epson print if you the image resolution is higher then 180dpi (image resoltion) because the actual print resolution is 1440dpi on the epson meaning that if you devide that number to 8 the image resolution is 180dpi. In case the actual print resolution is 2880x2880dpi the max image resolution should be 360dpi. I wonder if you can notice the difference between 400dpi image resolution and 180dpi image resolution. on the ET-8500

Hello, I’ve be looking for your videos.. they are excellent. I must buy a new printer but I really don’t know wich one 😩. I was looking for the 8500 but all say it’s is for photos. The printer will be used for home, but I also begins crafting und I wold love make stickers card and and and.. I have 2 children’s 8-10 years that will be Beginn too use more for school workings more times the printer. What your opinion?! It is the one for use? Could you help us 🙏🙏 with one opinion .. I would be thankful ( sorry for thé englisch.. i live in franche ☺️)

Hey, i komme to you oncez more time, sorry.. i read all your rewiew, just one question. To make Kopies, we say 5 pages, is it just possible in de scanne mode? it is not possible to put de pages rear feed paper behind? this for a future using for the childres is very important. i hope you can clarefie my in this.. wenn it is possible the printer comes tomorow jupiii. many thanks
