When making jewelry, the right flame tool can be of vital importance. Finding a flame that is easy to use and still powerful and precise can be difficult. Well, that is no longer the case. The @Bernzomatic FirePoint Creator Tool is great for smaller silver soldering projects. #ad The torch is great for annealing short lengths of wire and sheet, making bezels, attaching tube settings, and even complex soldering operations with multiple connection points. In this video Melissa Muir, Jewelry artist and Teacher, walks you through creating a complex sterling silver pendant with large and small stone settings and wire components.
Learn more about the Bernzomatic FirePoint Creator Tool here: bit.ly/3qWRq83
The FirePoint Creator Tool is easy to operate with one hand, everything from turning on the torch to adjusting the flame. For best results use only Bernzomatic MAP-Pro or Propane fuels. Everything is efficiently contained and stored in the heat resistant base. When you are finished with the torch, place the torch head into the dock on the base for easy and convenient storage, turn off the fuel regulator knob, and disconnect the line.
Hope you are inspired to create a piece of your own with Bernzomatic. If so, be sure to submit your piece to the #BernZoneContest for a chance to win $500 to fuel your next project! www.bernzomati...

Went researching for this device after seeing on Amazon and your the first video I watched. I've seen many tool and design presentations and this video is professionally done! Lighting is excellent. Camera angle and focus clear and stable. Your words are not rushed, explanations and details are clear and you produced a work of art! Well Done!!! Oh...and there's no dramatic music in background drowning out the presenters words.!!!

…and I couldn’t agree more!!! Well put! Thanks Melissa. I just bought mine but haven’t put it to the test, but seeing the lovely pendant you created confirms that this will be a great replacement for the butane torches I’ve been using (although they still have uses too). Thank you so much for sharing this great new torches capabilities. You rock! 👩🏼‍🎨🌵🔨

Thank you for making this video! I have their normal torch nozzle for the map gas tank but I'm finding the flame is just toooo wide. I think I'll upgrade to this set up after seeing how precise you had your flame. Thank you so much!

I use the TS8000 for casting. Yes. It is too wide and actually too hot for most of the things I do.

You made up my mind for me. I was considering several torches but I am going to buy a Burns O-Matic torch.

It is a great torch. But keep in mind, it is only good for smaller pieces. So if you are working small, it should be good.

Thanks, Melissa! Hope you're enjoying Tucson. Good video! My torch like this should be here tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the ease of it. It will be nice when I don't feel like setting regulator pressure, etc

Hi Melissa. Thank you so much for the video. I keep looking at this and then I'd also consider getting an acetylene tank set up. What are your thoughts about this compared to acetylene tank set up? Is it vastly different or, is it close enough for a beginner? At the fabrication class, obviously we're using an acetylene atmosphere at tanks and I'm getting used to them. Considering the substantial price diff, the bernzomatic system w/ tank for $100 versus an acetylene atmospheric tank set-up for $500, I'm wondering if the less expensive will be sufficient or if I will outgrow it. FYI: I will be enjoying my soldering and jewelry fabrication in my garage studio, if that has any bearing on the decision.

You will quickly outgrow this torch if you are already using acetylene/air. This is good for small pieces.

Hi. What is the name of the instrument you use to push in the bezel around the stone? In one of your videos you said you attached to a device and called it a hammer end. But then there's also a handheld instrument you use to push the metal around the cabochon, I don't know the name of it and I can't seem to locate one any links or names of devices to help me set my cabochons in my basil enclose the basil around my stone would be appreciated. Thank you.

@MelissaMuir

@@lawrencediggs7957 yes. And just as it is with silver, it is going to be good for smaller projects. But it should work fine with other metals and solders as well.
