Making a Premium Hand Made Cigar

This video will explore the making of a handmade, premium cigar. After the tobacco has been grown, picked, cured, fermented, and aged, it is ready to be assembled into cigars. This video shows how the wrapper, binder and filler leaves are prepared and then put together into cigars. Different techniques for bunching and rolling the cigars are also shown.
This video is a remastered version of an earlier upload. Much higher quality, some different media and higher resolution stills.

I have a better appreciation for the contents of a premium cigar, so many fillers to manipulate into a great roll.

This was great, especially the chuckle I got at the 30s vs 5m30s rolling comparison. That would be me. Now we need a vlog of the process of siting a patch of tobacco, harvesting seed pods, starting, fertilizing, weeding, smashing tobacco worms, cutting, stacking, racking high in barns and curing and stripping and packing and warehousing. There's a lot more to it :) The best wrappers in the world come from the best soil (geology), in the most productive non-irrigated land in the world. That same county, also produced record-breaking levels of CBD oil output, the first year it came into production. We are losing that ground to housing and paving.

What magnificent artistry! I always try to remember the work that goes into each cigar that I smoke (granted, I only enjoy a couple every month LOL). And watching the hands of the master rollers tells me one big difference between "los torcedores" and workers in a cigarette factory: "los torcedores" have a career to be proud of.

@moodonha
@moodonha 10 лет назад
do you know where can i get it from in the us?
@davidpdiaz
@davidpdiaz 10 лет назад
moodonha For about five bucks or so, you can buy a small bottle, usually less than an ounce, of glue and use it for repairing your cigars. I can't remember where I bought my bottle, but you can do a web search. Or, better, you can go down to your local supermarket and buy some liquid pectin that's used for preserving home made jams and jellies. It's the same stuff. You can buy 6 fluid ounces of liquid pectin for less than five dollars. Be sure to get liquid pectin and not the powder. The powder is too messy.

cigarettes & cheap cigars have a lot of filler and chemicals added to make them cheap and very addictive, this also makes the harmful. Pure tobacco is not actually that harmful.

because cigars contain more nicotine and the "toxins" are not burned off as easily in cigars as compared to cigarettes because they burn cooler. For this reason, you ingest more toxic chemicals from cigars. Love your vids Doc (and cigars), but I'm a doc too ;)

Daniel Jaquez They don't sell cigars at retail at the factory. Although they will give you some to smoke while you are there, they don't retail cigars. No factory does, that I know of. It's probably easier to get cigars in the states than in the countries where the cigars are made. Kinda strange, but true.
