Yeah that works too. The tear drop shape gives a slightly different sound. Maori also made a poi that whistled when you spun it, I’m still working on a working prototype

Why would it be offensive, many different cultures use this instrument it is not uniquely Maori. That being said as a NZer I approached from that angle as I am a kiwi and of Maori descent
