@@FlavorWorld : Cut pile tufting gun will arrive sometime in late January. Gives me time to make a frame, and get either the burlap or Monk's cloth ready. I love abstract art from the 50-60s, so my rugs will probably have that motif. Love the embroider of your brand on the back. Will you be able to get a rug shearer for providing a professional look on the finished rugs in the future???
whatever i can do to make it a lil more special, ill take it : ) MOST people will never see the bottom of the rug, but the 1% of people that do will really appreciate it. All about the details! glad you appreciate it thank you!!!

In the PlayStation rug video I used Monks Cloth! In this^ Hello Kitty rug video, i am again using Burlap. I much prefer burlap!!! It is much much much cheaper, and still preforms about 95% as good as monks cloth. The only real negative to is is that it rips a little easier, but with good technique this can be avoided : )
@@FlavorWorld : Does the burlap hold up as well as the Monk's cloth?? I do see that Monk's cloth is costly, and sometimes hard to find. It appears that burlap leaves a hole (which does not heal like Monk's cloth), however, it was hard to see clearly if that would be an issue.
@@FlavorWorld Hi there! How much gr/m2 is the burlap you're using? (im not sure if in america you use grams too). I wanted to order some but i saw so many different types! Also, do you think linen could be a good replacement too? Or is that too tightly woven? Thanks so much for your videos!

I liked all the tips you add and the kitty chart on the left showing what parts you were working on. I'm wondering about your spray adhesive. The kind I use for my quilts will wash off. What kind did you use?
thank you i appreciate you noticing the details of my work : ) means a lot. Im using Loctite 300 Professional for my spray adhesive! strong stuff, but not good for your lungs at all!!!
I'm so glad I found your channel a few weeks ago. Its been super inspiring & I will be getting myself a tufting gun after the holidays. This is by far my favorite peices you've done. They're all pretty sick but I've always loved hello kitty. And I absolutely love all the detail even on the back of the rug. P.s. the music was fire🔥

For the backing, wouldn't it be neater if the backing was also folded in on the edges instead of cutting it flush to the shape of the rug? I would love to see you try if that would work better. Especially for commercial ones. Also, can a rubber backing work for the rug to be anti-slip?
yeah for sure!!! That'd help keep it from fraying and just keep a cleaner look in general. However, with organic/curvy shapes like this, that seemed super difficult to fold it all over LOL so i took the easy route... I could give it a try sometime to experiment though! I rubber addition to a fabric backing would probably work best!!! using a non-slip pad or something

Hi!!! usually one of these things is what is going wrong: 1. you aren't pressing firmly enough with the gun against the fabric (you don't need to press SUPER hard just can't be too light with it) 2. make sure you’ve got the gun at a 90-degree angle with the fabric and that you always point it in the direction it's traveling 3. your yarn maybe isn't feeding properly (reduce the friction of it!) 4. your fabric might not be stretched tight enough Hope this helps : )

Nice work man! What are the strips you’re using on your wood frame? I saw you were stapling your burlap in your diy frame video and you’ve switched since. Is this a better method?
wow good eye. Yes! I have since upgraded to carpet tack strips to hold the fabric on. I definitely recommend! The work great and make the process easier

When tufting, does it make a difference from doing the outlines of the image first? Or is that just a preference? I know coloring in images (spray paint/ paint, etc.) I would usually fill in first, then outline everything afterward. Im thinking of getting into making rugs, but Just thought id ask that first Any info helps, thanks!
hey!!! doesnt matter too much the order. I like to do the outline first because sometimes its hard to perfectly outline a shape. in other words, it makes it obvious exactly where you need to fill
he flops his rug onto the floor, the time runs out, the vid complete; I watch the screen, just wanting more, but that will be another week. though idle as his tools may lay, his yarn and frame and tufting gun, another rug will come our way - a tufter's work is never done.
He lays down another 1 of 1 track so pleasing and soft, even despite his left hand having been cleanly cut off; but like a kid at the table his energy cannot be denied, and I am glad that he is friends with the coolest man alive 😎

hi!!!! i got my yarn from Michaels : ) its the cheapest one, 7oz acrylic yarn. i think the brand is craftsmart or super saver or something. You definitely should try to make a rug, i'm happy to help inspire you

I got mine from a fabric store near me!!! Jo-Ann fabrics. to be specific, it's Jute Burlap! Costed me about $4 a yard. I got my tufting gun from a seller on Etsy, but sadly their shop is no longer available :-/ ive got a video coming soon thatll be full of info for beginners! I'll call it Tufting 101. stay tuned for that : )
Maybe a Felt or heavy weight Pellon for backing stability? Also look into fabric heavy duty fusing interfacing, you’d need to use an iron instead of spray adhesive, but may work a bit better! 👍
