Hi Richard - Enjoying your excellent series on making Scalescenes buildings. Goes hand in hand with mine except with me you get a novice view and yours is a veterans point of view. So more and keep them coming. Regards Chris
Could you recommend a suitale printer for running these out at home? I assume any quality inkjet would be fine and trial various paper stocks for final matt or satin finish?
Hi Richard - Having made my first N scale building and then going this excellent series again it makes a lot more sense, especially your technique for cutting out windows. I notice on the instructions it states before construction apply several light coats of artist’s matt spray varnish to the sheets to protect the print surface. Do you not bother with this? My other question is do you weather your building before applying a matt spray, in fact can you weather a building after applying a matt spray? Regards Chris
I've never bothered with the sprays. I print on to a colour laser and I don't think that laser prints fade over time like injets do. It's an initial bigger cost to buy a laser (mine was £215 new Curry's at the time) but the toners last for so many prints so it evens out more over time.
