Always informative and entertaining! So, can you create a key in your parameters so that when you create the finish schedule it automatically populates the cells? For example, I place a defined carpet in a room, identify the ceiling as acoustical, paint the walls and a wood base, painted. If I create these finish selections for each material, would the schedule self populate?
Darryl Henderson: unfortunately the materials that we assign in the rooms won’t self populate. The ROOM object can’t actually ‘SEE’ what is on the walls, floor and ceilings... it must be told what is there. Revit does this because often people place multiple materials on these surfaces (carpet and wood flooring, act tiles and GWB on ceiling, all inside a single room. etc.)
@David: sure. Would you like a schedule to show a materials takeoff? (amount of Gypboard, studs, etc.) or a list of the different walls used in the project?
