For anyone who doesn't know, like I didn't, where you see the ridges or nodes on the bamboo, it's solid at that point inside the tube. So when you drill your hole for the pivot point, you have to make sure it is on the longer / heavier side of that part so the water won't run out the holes you drill for the pivot point. Another thing and I never see this mentioned, I haven't tried making one of these yet, but if your longer piece behind the pivot point is way longer than the shorter piece that fills with water, the weight of the water may not ever tip it. It's got to be balanced right so that as it fills up with water, it's just heavier than the other side and will rip. No one ever says how many inches each side is etc. I realize it's going to be different from pole to pole depending on how long you make it overall, but it would be nice for some measurements to be included in these diy videos.
Awesome!! Actually this is too awesome!! Been wanting to make exactly this!! And love you demonstrated it's possible!!! (Also loved the family project feels of this!!)
Salva VS sites like eBay and AliExpress do sell them and it depends on how much water you want to pump per hour in correlation to the height of the output, typically shishi odoshi output flow rate are low so you don't need a pump with high flow rate
