First time I tried the coin trick, the coin slipped on 2 corners, and a cut my finger on the third. A week later I tried the 4th and I left a circle indentation. lol
Hi Gary! Great pouch. Thinking of building one for my wife. I don't have access to that type of oil you used to color and treat. Would Mineral Oil be a viable substitute? Thanks and looking forward to more of your work.
Thank you very much!!! again!!! I applied one coat of neatsfoot oil, it soften the leather a little bit, and it also darken the leather a little bit, I did once apply mineral oil on a small piece, it also darken the color a little bit, but I wouldn't recommend it, because I really have no idea if there will be any negative effects on leather for the long run... you can google it, there are opinion on the internet that it is believed that mineral oil might have negative effects on leather due to oxidization ...
@@garyipip Thanks for the reply Gary! Appreciate it. I researched the same about mineral oil. The leather community seems divided between neatsfoot and mink oil. But most agree on not using mineral oil or any petroleum based oil on their work. More power to you, Gary. Love seeing you work your magic.
hi a nice job, could you inform the viewers of the thickness of the leather, and the type, you are using, also the glue you use and details of the finish. this would be most helpful.
Thank you very much!!! I can always feel there is hope out there when I receive comment like this from good people like yourself!! Best regards from Hong Kong!!!
