In this video I make a small stickbait for a friend of mine. This smaller sized stickbait has a great "walking the dog" action and also dives underwater. This stickbait is balanced in such a way that only the very tip of the nose of the lure will stick out of the water on the pause. This way it is much easier for suction feeders like snook to inhale the lure, versus lures that float like foam (like the Heddon Spook). Balance is Key! If you have any questions about making small stickbaits, don't be afraid to leave a comment down below and we will be more than happy to answer your questions!

Awesome and informative video as usual!! Thanks. I wouldnt mind seeing you weight the lure, and balance the lure and the testing you go thru to achieve your final product... Thanks again!!

Thanks mate! I'm thinking about doing a separate video for balancing a lure simply because it takes up so much time and the video would be unwatchable. Stay tuned!

I would love to see you doing a micro jointed lure, I know it's way out your comfort zone, but you are an artist! I bet you would give the insights I'm needing to perfect mine. Micro lures are actually hard to get the right action since it's so hard to carve the small details

I believe a single joint connection would benefit the lure best. Please check out my "making a swimbait for bass" video. that swimbait is tiny.

I’d like to see how you cut the pieces for the face, I’m having a hard time getting both sides somewhat identical and cutting out such small pieces.. great video man, that thing is badass

Hey man, thanks for watching. In most of my other stickbait or lure making videos I show you how I carve the face. It does take a bit of practice and smaller lures are much harder to carve. Start practicing on big lures to make it easier for yourself

The Angling Globetrotters thanks buddy, I was talking more about the foil sticker. How you cut those out with such detail more of then the actual face carving itself
@TheAnglingGlobetrotters
@TheAnglingGlobetrotters 5 лет назад
So the foil is not specifically cut out for the face. I just cut it into rough pieces that are larger than the pieces of the face I will be putting them on i.e. gill slit or lips. I just rub the foil into the carved outlines of the face with my finger and then cut off the excess material. In some of my other videos you might get a better idea of how I do it.

Hi, I really like your channel. I'd love to know what kind of tree you're working with

Thanks for watching. If you check out our latest video I show you why it doesn't matter a whole lot what type of wood you use. Unless I say it in the video at some point, I won't be able to recall what type of wood this was but that, at the same time is also not very important.

No great lure, do toi have the plans that you can share with me? I looking to make one like this but i dont have that swimming results, obviously the shape is good for the same species I fish. I'm from the Caribbean. PR.. THANKS I hope you can help out.. !

Hi Victor, I do not have any designs on paper, but I might in the near future. If I do make a design I'll always share it with my subscribers. If you stick to the design criteria I showed in the Stickbait Balancing videos, you should be able to make a couple without a problem. The smaller ones are the easiest!

Good job please what kind of wood do you use?
@TheAnglingGlobetrotters
@TheAnglingGlobetrotters 4 года назад
I've used a wide variety. Understanding how to balance each type of wood is much more important than sticking with one particular type of wood. thanks for watching!

About making lures for me the only thing that matter is the lure weighting, what you dont show in the video, the rest is just redundant. Thanks
@TheAnglingGlobetrotters
@TheAnglingGlobetrotters 3 года назад
If you would have shown an interest in any of my other stickbait making videos, you would find out I include the weighting process often enough, ironically making it redundant in this particular video. Not only that, I've got a three videos that explain the balancing process in stickbaits.
