We challenged singer songwriter Nick Dache to produce a full song with a kalimba sample. He has been writing songs for the past seven years and doesn't have too much experience as a producer which made this challenge interesting. His primary instruments are piano and guitar but he connected the kalimba sample to his midi keyboard and started his experimentation.
This video showcases the full process from the creative planning before making the song, the recording processes, song arrangement, working with effects such as EQ, compression, reverb, auto tune, automation, and much more. He eventually recorded a vocal to and decided to call the track: "The way things were supposed to be". This production was created over two days and we edited hours of raw footage into a fifteen minute highlight reel. We hope you like this video as much as we enjoyed working with Nick to produce this masterpiece and hopefully we can work with him again in the future.
