Making A Step Stool with Bosch Tools

This was a quick build for a friend who wanted a beefy step stool.
Thought it would be fun to record the build process. I didn't talk to the camera because I wanted to get the stool built quickly. Took about 4-5 hours with all the camera work involved. I used a 2x12x10 plus an additional 2 feet from a second 2x12x10..... should have bought a 12 footer but the lumber selection was crap. LOL

Good to see more videos Eric. I've always drilled a hole at the intersection of the cuts on stringers to eliminate a stress point. The semicircle left after the two straight cuts are made distribute the stresses evenly and reduce the likelihood of a crack there.

Hi Eric. I am glad you are making videos again as I always have enjoyed them. For 12V cordless, I have also transitioned to the Bosch 12V Max (LED lights, impact driver, drill/driver, and jigsaw). The tools are a good value, lightweight, and have good battery life (with replacement batteries that are actually affordable). I hope Bosch brings the cordless router to the US market. Steve

Thanks for sharing. Looks solid and just what I need. Question. What purpose do the legs serve that you put on the inside and bolted down. I noticed you covered them back up with the corner piece you cut off.

Hi, Solid steps 👍, I'm curious as to why you don't have a place for your mitre saw or a stand for it, it looks like you have a decent sized workshop?

I have a miter saw setup with a Kapex. But I used my Bosch because it has a better cutting capacity. I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep the Bosch or keep the Kapex. Which is why I haven't made a dedicated miter saw station for the Bosch. Makita has a new 12" sliding miter saw coming out, not sure when, but it looks promising. So I may sell both the Bosch and Kapex for the Makita.

hmmm, decisions decisions, which toy to keep, tough one that, 😏 I have a Kapex120 mounted to a bench & couple of other makes big n small that travel to work with me, The Kapex is an excellent saw but reviews & people on a joiners FB page I'm a member of make them appear not to be long lasting. Makita will last you a lifetime 👍

No that is a SOLID step stool. Great work. By the way, what is that power cord attachment you have on your trim router and sander? Is that an aftermarket attachment? - Cay

Thanks, Cay. The power cord connectors are Neutrik Powercon True1 connectors. Aftermarket. I'm sure it voids any warranty.

I don't need a bigger table saw. The Bosch table saw has 15 amps. Plenty of power for my needs. Plus, I don't want a large table saw taking up shop space. Ya know ?
