Making a Table on a Sawhorse to use as a Workbench

I made a little workbench for my workshop to have something more sturdy to work on. I do not have enough space for a proper workbench so I built this one at about 1 x 0.5 m top and 90 cm height on a big sawhorse structure.
For the top I first intended to make a lamination of several pieces of ash, but I received one naturally split board so I decided to use it as it is, even with the bark, as it looks very nicely. I may eventually replace or improve it, or remove the bark, but for now I will see how it will work this way.
The joinery of the legs and feet is inspired from the Nakashima dinning tables, then a trestle connecting them and a top piece joining all the four legs with mortise and wedged tenons.
Wood: ash. Finish: danish oil

Simple joinery BUT ,extremely accurately and well executed right up to the drawboarding and the wedged tenons. it is a great shame that a craftsman of this level does not have a bigger space . i wish you luck in the future . This work was very impressive .Not the least of which were th handmade tools by the looks of it.You're a young man whom I am sure will go far.

@ginoasci2876
@ginoasci2876 4 года назад
Adrian Preda: I bet. Whenever an assembly is that tight, there’s not much room for glue. Which means you don’t need much, so a thin layer will because the surfaces are so flat and close it will never move. Try a test joint that fits together perfectly and just apply a thin layer and leave it over night. It’s an incredible bond. I love projects like your bench because the pieces are flat straight and the joints are fun to do.
