I like it! looks easy to make and useful with all sorts of boards. I had one idea after you tried the first board that was to small. the other side of your jig has a smaller side. I was thinking you could install another set of hold downs facing the other way and be able to do both small and large boards just by turning the jig around. 2 in 1!
This looks great But wouldn’t I get the same results jus using the fence as the reference point as the strip of wood against the fence is doin the same job
I find that sometime the fence is not as steady as the jig, so the wood I'm trying to square up ends up not being square. It is also helpful with larger sizes of wood. Thanks for watching!
Very good with free throw pallets can make or repair a lot very good real life type of shop To bad there are so many insulting people that would not ever act like that face to face I subscribed thank you I be made many boards for my concrete business
I've been trying to find ways to square up my pallet boards and came across this video. I'll definitely be making a jig like this soon, it seems like a such an easy way to do the job. Good work! You just earned another subscriber :) Cheers!
I wish people these days would learn to be respectful, nice idea on the jig. nice to see more people doing their own work. Also; god bless you too (was cut a bit short there).
Thanks for watching! I have always been big on learning to do something myself instead of having someone do it for me. I figure if someone else can learn to do it, so can I.
Nigel Francis it is to put a known true straight edge. If you ran the pallet wood against the fence, what ever curve is on the fence side will be cut on the cut side. This method uses the sled as the true square edge and allows you to get a edge ready for gluing (usually when making table tops)
you got shit for brains Nigel....go look up these videos.. "straight edge jig for table saw"....you might learn something..n if you do come back n apologize to this guy...
2 bucks or 5 bucks for those clamps? I actually went to harbor freight and they were like 7 bucks. or was it 9 bucks. damn! maybe I paid 13 bucks! Lol!
More wood working videos and then upload videos and then send them to my phone app to send them to my phone app again for my email address and email me and thank you again
Pretty good idea with those toggle clamps. Try using a magnetic drill bit extension so your screws don't fall off. You will need to use the shortie drill bits though.
+Ryan Jones Sorry, I haven't replied before today. I didn't write the dimensions down, so hope by now you have watched the video again to get them. If I get a chance, I will watch it and add them to the description below the video.
Marcie, it's because if you push the board up against the fence then the other side of the board you are cutting will just follow the same pattern as the fence side. This way the jig he built is parallel up to the fence then whatever board rides on the jig has no choice but to be straight like the jig to fence edge. Just make sure the 2 boards that make up the jig are square to one another before you screw them together.
Very poor illustration by not placing the pallet wood correctly so you could at least cut half an inch off making sure the edge is perfect! Homework needs to be done before showing the world!
I clearly understood his idea and video. not sure what more it needs. a fancy soundtrack? regular guy, talking to regular guys and girls in a regular woodshop. And he still has 10 fingers. he's doing something right and has more videos than me! (I have none lol) I just have a phone to record and might offend to many people if I don't have a $1000 camera and a production crew to film me drilling a hole. bah......I'm not that exciting anyway. be nice and appreciate his work. I give him a high 5
