Andrea demonstrates step by step the making of a tube rivet.
Tools used:
ball peen hammer, center punch, drill gauge, drills, hand drill, sandpaper, round file, saw frame and blades, steel block or anvil.
Optional tools:
dapping set, swanstrom punch pliers, Roper Whitney hand punch

Handy tip from the world of Bushcraft: If you're doing this with copper or brass, you can heat the cut pieces of tubing with a torch first (look for a quick color change) and let them cool completely. This anneals the metal and makes it more malleable and less prone to cracking. Copper work-hardens and with repeated hammering, can break.

Wow what a great video, I have been watching your wonderful videos on cold connections I haven't done a lot of them and your way of doing them is great . Can I ask where you got the blue tool make the marks on the metal for drilling?

Thank you nancy! I picked those up at my local hardware store, they would be in the aisle with drill bits.
