i always install my clamps so the bolts point up, you can see the clamps from a mile away.

I’m definitely a ford guys but only cheve I’ve ever liked was the corvettes and that one sounds and looks great can’t wait for the paint job I suggest a I coat clear coat black and make it look real nice as reflective then out chrome trim on the outside I’m just thinking about in my head and with some fat tires on the back I think it’ll look so nasty

Needing exhaust backpressure is a myth. You want the best free-flowing exhaust you can get if you want to make more power. Sounds great though!

Buy a non flux core welder!! You need a solid wire welder with shielding gas

Get some dyna mat. It’s to help stiffen up rattles. Most use it in their cars for sound systems. Car sounds great also. Good job sir.

Flowmaster super 10s sound even better on a GM 5.7 350 if they're installed around 6 feet from engine and you have 3 feet or more in the outlet. Flowmaster recommends 18 inches minimum on the outlet. I have built 3 5.7s in the last year, 1 was a 79 out of a gm motor home for a local track car. Second one was a rebuild for an 86 c10 stepwise 2wd and a 3rd one was for a 83 k10 4x4. All of them are pushing around 450hp on carburetor.

There was nothing wrong with the welder, you didn’t clean the material you was welding on... it was full of rust etc.. always get your grinder on your welding patches and clean them up before you weld! 😎

Your car sounds really nice, awesome job! Just a suggestion if you haven't done this by now. You might want to add an H-pipe to get a little deeper note on the exhaust and get rid of the resonating sound you are going to be getting at about 2300 to 2600 rpms. I say this only because I walked the same path with my C3 Vette a year and a half ago. Keep up the good work.

Try to hit cleetus up and ask you use the burn out pad

you have a thick layer of zinc on the exhaust pipes, cant weld on that, grind it clean first, welding zinc is even quite toxic, pretty cool licence plate :)

A little tip for next time those extensions should go over the muffler outlet not into them you get exhaust leaks like you have them especially with those types of clamps. Exhaust leaks will change the flow of exhaust and the sound but fun is as fun does enjoy.

Someone may of said something already, but engines don't want any back pressure. You will not cause damage to an engine with straight pipes.

it wasn't welding because its probably galvanized pipe.. make sure you grind the crap outta anything you think might be galvanized ✌

The leads on the welder need to be swapped. That’s why it was like zap zap instead of sounding like bacon sizzling.

If you ever pull the intake for some reason. Use a proper gasket. My jeep has a inline 6. It was swapped for a 5.9 liter v8 and had a 4 barrel eldabrock on it. Rtv failed. Started burning tons of oil and anti freeze (although exhaust didnt smoke a ton) 80 miles after a oil change it burned 3 quarts. Tore down the engine. Its bored to the max. Crank is scored aswell as main and crank bearings. All because a 30$ gasket. Got a new amc 360 on the way but its hard dropping a couple grand when you only make 8$ a hr as a broke ass high schooler

I was wanting some borla crate mufflers but they’re like 400 dollars a piece so I went with black widow venom 250s they sound really good but some day I’ll get some borlas
