In this video I take some rough sawn white oak and build this beautiful card box for my upcoming wedding. Im really happy with how the white washed white oak looks with the wax ontop!
Check out these Diablo Ultimate finish blades for the Table saw and Miter saw, they leave a really nice finish and cut this hard material really well!

Check out the Tormach 24R Router. The more I use this thing the more I appreciate having it in the shop. Its so accurate that after that mistake I made (My Bad measuring) I was able tp precisely correct it and not lose the whole project.

Great job! We’ve all learned that the better we get at fixing our mistakes the better woodworkers we are.

I never hear talk about 45.5 degree miters when making boxes, or filing the spline joints because you dont have a fancy flat toothed blade. Great tips. Watched quite a few of your vids now, great to see your humble approach to such a wide skill-set. Keep it coming!

Wow, I have done the CNC error. It's very easy to let that happen. I have now began doing an "air" cut each first cut for at least the beginning of a project to make sure of location and alignment. I don't want to make another mistake like that on a project I have sweated over. I felt your pain, but you worked it out fine. My first major error went in the burn pile It was that bad.

I am usually so careful! A nice thing about the Tormach is that it visually shows you the entire cut path with the tool center location, so usually I will hover over the extents and Make sure im within bounds... didnt do that this time...

Nice box! If you use magnets on one side and then a nail or tack on the other it will solve the problem of them pulling themselves out. 😉

Great fix with the CNC! I've been there before and had the same pit in my stomach as I watched your bit plunge into the lid. Looks fantastic, though! Love the splines!!

Such a terrible feeling! I definitely threw a few things around the shop after that one... Thanks for watching!

Always good to see the mistakes and how to rectify them . The finished article looks great - however I can't see the link for the whitewash finish - maybe I'm going cross-eyed from all the links? ;) Have been looking for something to use on southern yellow pine doors from the thirties which have been dipped to strip all the old paint. Thanks!

Hey you aren't going blind! I forgot to add it, I just put it in the description. Its Antique White stain from Home Depot, the Varathane Brand. Its the first time I used it, and I really like it.

Could you of sunk the magnets deeper and put a wood plug on top of them?
