A lovely vid. I came to cosplay via sewing but I can see why the patterns can be daunting, kudus for doing it anyway (and doing a really great job). TO me I look at the armours you make and am just in awe (and I am terrified of starting my first armour build, but I will try it) One tiny tiny thing. I used to work in a fabric shop and we would always sell our posh nice fabric scissors with thread snips. it's possible to wear a dull patch on your blades with thread snipping so if you get some cheap little snips you can keep the epic scissors going for longer :)
ooo thank you for the tip! I def want to keep these scissors in good shape, I'll have to pick up a thread snip next time I'm at JoAnns. and I can totally get why armor is intimidating, I think I was drawn to it first because for my brain it's a bit more ... malleable? if that makes sense? I feel like I can always cut a piece off and glue it back with EVA foam wheras I'm way less hesitant to do that with sewing (I feel like if I cut a piece out just slightly wrong I have to completely start over from scratch)
