Thanks to the algorithm to find your channel. I really enjoy watching your videos - you are smart, charming and serious. I guess a new Costume-Star is born here. I wish you all the best.

You know... I wonder how many people in the past made a petticoat too short and went- "Frick it. Add a ruffle." But I digress. The dress looks gorgeous so far. The color is beautiful. A lovely... tarnished ivy green? The only way i know how to describe it lol, but I love it. Ooooh. The dredded cut. Is that the same one Sewstine had to make when she remade when she did her dream Madame de Pompadour dress? Because they sound very similar amounts of scary. And dang. Props to you to handsewing the whole thing, even if it isn't a big chore for you. I love handsewing, but I got preeeeetty sick of it after hand sewing the equivilant of 18 waist to floor seams on my edwardian skirt. (The 6 construction seams, and then two finishing seams for each one. With thick denim fabric. Weeeee.) So excited to see the next video!

This is going to be stunning! Have you explained the concept of the sacque in another video? I haven't heard that term before and I am intrigued.

I have an intro video about the style- it is in the playlist for this dress- but sacque is another way of say robe a la francaise!

Are originals closed with hooks and eyes too? I've always wondered because sometimes I see other costumers close it with needles.

Both are accurate! The dress I based it off of had hooks and eyes.
