Thanks a lot my bro for such valuable vlog. I love music at 40 yrs can't fight off the gift from above. You have come to my rescue... I have 🐝 struggling to own a music instrument. But this is exceptional sir. Watching from Swaziland. Much appreciation to you and the time and effort. Heman you are a blessing. I love your humble spirit.
NONE OF THEM have a Blues Genre? If not, is there a genre listed in any of these programs that works perfectly for blues songs/progressions generation?
@@apcraze555there is nothing wrong with ai, but there is something wrong with users. people think that ai is just one button, plug and play, little people notice the results match your efforts. also, it can be used for bad things
This is fabulous. You certainly show both the possibilities and limitations of AI in music production. But I think in a short time this will exponentially improve. Onion Love will live in our hearts!
@@iamai-neuro That is quite naive. THIS right here wasn't possible 10 years ago. And I don't think you quite understand how exponential the growth with AI can be. In 10 more years musical AI will be SUBSTANTIALLY more competent than it is now. You're effectively comparing a toddler that just learned to walk to a human being with decades of knowledge. And this toddler has a bit of a longer startup time to acquire a new skill...but once it acquires it, it will develop at a super rapid pace
Sure Lamai is sonehow right - Mozartˋs Music was/is made of deep human emotions transformed into a mathematical code called music notes through which we can shre his Music unto this very day - A.I. is not able to create emotional feelings like humans do and cannot interprete them - it can copy and compare information, but it does not know, what itˋs doing - so it will support people to find ideas and that is a good thing too - itˋs just a Tool and nothing else.
Dope video! You were ahead of the times. Now tools like Orb suite for chords and Vocs AI for singers and rappers make it easy to streamline the process
OK this is so awesome it hurts my brain. Both for the "Holy crap, a.i. can actually do this" sentiment, and for the "OMG this is comedy gold" sentiment. lol
Dude thanks for this effort! You end the video with the message that ai can't replace humans in making music but your video using tools that are at the very start of ai music shows is what it can do now. It's like you made 'pong' and say this is as far as it goes, video games will never be realistic. No my man, you proved that AI will be the main music producer of the future. Thank you!
That was awesome! I really enjoyed your honest breakdown of the process and your thoughtful synopsis of the whole process and the importance of the creative human component in songwriting. It's only a matter of time, though, before all the nuances of being a human being can be articulated in a sophisticated AI creation. I'm looking forward to seeing more content from you. Cheers!
bro this song lowkey slaps!! that is basically a demo ready to be well produced. if you put new lyrics nd produce tht shit well yo tthis is a nice song! sorta reminds me of daft punk actually.
this song lowkey slaps...? really? God i think human taste has officially been extinct.. thank u for ending humanity with the most retarded comment of the world
Interesting experiment! If some of the vocal notes get lengthened it could actually sound quite coherent. By the way I think we humans also create based on what we have seen and heard before. From the moment we’re born we are learning and synthesizing. So it’s difficult to argue that anything is truly original. If we lived in pitch-black solitary confinement from birth (like regular non-AI computers) I doubt we would we be able to create anything considered original or novel. These neural net AI systems even mimic the way in which our brains synthesize “new” creations. And this current generation of AI systems is pretty basic, but they have come a long way in the last few years, like with release of GPT-3 last year. If the rate of progress keeps going then I believe in 5 years these systems will produce art and music that can rival that made by many humans.
Exactly my guy, people are just so not ready for when that inevitably happens. They think that there's something that makes us special and can't be replicated.
Watching you go through this from the perspective of someone who is a music illiterate was quite interesting. Obviously this result won't likely be part of a Broadway production but I thought the results turned out to be a fun and funny song. Well done.
Thanks for making this video. I used to use Abelton Live 5 back in the day hehe. I’m blown away at these different AI tools snd how you used them to make a funny song. 🤣
Being someone that plays a lot of instruments and composes and records full songs from scratch (all by myself, as a hobby) this is bittersweet to me. On the one hand I find it cool that people can now create songs on their own without any musical knowledge and be able to express their ideas (sort of). On the other hand, unfortunately this discourages people to learn instruments and play by themselves, which makes me kind of sad.
I don't think so. I believe that people who really appreciates music and somehow needs this knowledge will always learn it. AI just made it simples for those who just need the songs, but don't want to go all the way from scratch to create it. 🥰
@@10pesosand25centavos How would you use AI to learn an instrument? How would it be better than watching a video on RU-vid? In the end, you still have to practice (and a lot) to get any good. My point is... Why would a kid do it, if he/she could very easily tell AI what instruments to play, what kind of mood, tempo, rhythm, etc... And create a song in 3 min. Bear in mind, I hope you're right, but unfortunately I don't see it.
@@nerenahd AI can demonstrate the right way to play and it can give you ideas on your next composition. Basically AI grabs all knowledge and experience there is currently out there and gives it to you and it's how you use it. AI is a good tool to learn from. Besides if you let AI do everything without you understanding the deeper meaning behind what you are doing then AI can only do so much. If you give AI garbage prompts it will output garbage too
You can actually make your workflow faster and better with AI as your assistant. It allows you to work on the important parts humans are naturally good at: being creative.
After all humans created AI, we just have to train them better, this song is great just need better lyrics and its a hit, thanks for sharing really enjoyed it 🤗
Hey man, great video. I was laughing out loud about the lyrics of the song, when you played the final result. Hilarious. To your point that AI will never be able to come up with completely original things... I would disagree with that. Did you watch the Alpha Go documentary? There was a part when the AI did something in a game that its programmers did not understand, because they never taught it to do this kind of move and it was a kind of move no human had ever done before. It was against all rules but it worked. Also because you said AI needs tons of human composed content to learn from... true but don't you think that humans are doing the same thing? I mean all famous musicians say in interviews that they were influenced by artist XYZ and you can often hear that in their music. So I think human artists work the same way, learning from other artists and then just adding something new to it. Just like Alpha Go did in that match. Also, even if it should be the case that an AI can not come up with something completely new and everything is basically just a remix of existing content... if you consider that AIs will be able to process tons and tons of data, much more than any human brain could ever process in a lifetime, then the results an AI will be able to remix from all that data will sound or look completely new to us and we humans will at least perceive it as something original. What do you think?
Hi Fabian, thanks for watching the video! You certainly have a great point! I think you're right in terms of the similarity in AI and humans both basing their music off past influences. However, I would argue that the difference lies mostly in the story and meaning behind the songs. If you noticed, the beat that the AI came up with in the video was actually decent and the voice would definitely be a lot more realistic if I had a better understanding of vocaloid softwares (as shown by many professional vocaloid artists), I personally don't see the lyrical part of the AI being able to improve to a level where it can create something "new." I think that the beauty of human emotion is that everyone, in their tiny corner of the universe experiences different things day to day and these experiences, I'd argue, make up a huge portion of why people enjoy certain songs. I can see the A.I. being a decent or even good producer or composer but without the experience of emotions, which is largely subjective to every human being, it is unable to make music with substance.
@@heman_lee Thank you for taking the time to reply. I get your point about human emotion. I could actually imagine that at some point AIs might be able to make up the emotional part as well. However, it would still only be made up and human listeners would know that the AI can not actually have experienced what it sings about. So maybe that's why human written and AI written songs will never be fully comparable. But I guess only time can tell. I think AIs will be able to do much wilder things than we can imagine today.
@@fabianschierz The idea of actual human experiences behind the creation of a song certainly is a huge part of how music makes people feel! I think it would be an interesting social experiment to pass off an AI written song as something written by a human to see the response of people!
Really Great Video. Great effort! This is amazing 👍. Actually this is what I am searching for.... Thank you so much. Your hardwork to show us this interesting creative work is highly appreciable
24:00 wait. If humans have to 'learn' music composition, have to 'learn' how to play an instrument, have to 'learn' how to sing, how is it any different for AI to have to 'learn'? If both entities have to store information, recall, conceive and create then I don't understand why the pessimistic position on whether AI will be able to produce music that is human-like that humans like. As AI gets more mature, perhaps it turns inwards for feedback from a connected AI community and carries on with its own separate existence... They Look and Feel Human. Some are programmed to think they are Human. There are many copies. And they have a Plan." 🤣
you would need like a team of 8 ai's running and doing different things. One project manager ai to produce the song from all the ideas created from the team of ai.
Lol this is a great attempt by ai. Crazy to know how much of an impact it will have once the tech improves. Humans will literally be at the Grammys competing for awards.
Thank you so much for your advice and wise words. I have just started my Lofi Channel, and I hope that I will reach my goals of earning through RU-vid. To those who are also on the same journey with me, I wish you all great success ahead. Much love.
I enjoyed watching the process. I can't help but wonder what improvements could have been made to the overall result by a bit more tweaking. Like picking a AIVA result with a slower tempo then spacing the words and syllables out more and turning it into a girly sounding ballad (well, the synthetic voice does sound female). About the only input you've allowed yourself of course because you want the process to be all AI. Interesting stuff.
EXCELLENT WORK AND THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME EVEN THOUGH YOU DO NOT BELIEVE IT THOSE OF US WHO MAKE MUSIC AND SEEK TO SIMPLIFY THINGS OR HAVE MORE TOOLS TO FACILITATE PROCESSES THESE STEPS HELP US CONNECT EVERYTHING WE KNOW PLUS THE TOOLS THAT ONE DAY WE HAD FOUND FOR THERE AND BE ABLE TO SOLVE NOW AND CREATE EASIER FASTER THANK YOU VERY MUCH HERE YOU EARNED ONE MORE SUBSCRIBER
A mix assistant ( for instance ) wouldn’t write music it would simply allow us to concentrate on THE MUSIC ( or whatever) while it made mixing and producing a radio ready master something everyone could do ( not just typewriter jockeys) …. ( including handicapped people for instance ) every one thinks its going to replace us but I think it will enhance many aspects of art and give us a brand new set of tools to explore without doing a ton of handholding with the computer in the form of key commands shortcuts etc that have zero to do with composition generally.👽✌️
'Watched the whole video - thanks very much for doing it, you saved me ages of tedious trial-and-error. Agreed, the tech needs to be easier, but that'll happen within a year or two. - I've already been totally step-change thrilled with AI graphic tools that transform me into an artist able to illustrate whatever I imagine. - I really want to produce music too, so I'll keep plodding. - Video creation by AI will be fabulous, 'can hardly wait. All these tools enable us to express our imagination extremely articulately (a) so we can sit back and experience it from outside, and (b) share our imagination with other, equally thrilling. Note, although you suggest AI won't be creative because it uses other people's music, remember that all human artists do exactly that. 'Creative' just means 'seemingly mysterious' and the mystery is simply that we can't know which previous art it was based on, and the choice of what aspects to use or not. - Thanks again. You've produced some snazzy music, e.g. Rainbow After the Storm (feat. Zozzie)
It's a bit like stand-up commedy where the comedian first gives out his jokes on a sheet to the audience and lebels them 1234 etc then when he gets on stage he just reads out the numbers.
