This is really wonderful! I have been looking for a long time how to label contours and your video is the first one that has easily shown me how to do this. Question: is there any way adjust the contour numbers? Not sure I'm asking this legibly, but I have a mountain that I know summits at 2837, but the contour line says 860. Not sure how to adjust that so it is accurate. Thanks again!
What is the unit of measure for your elevation values? 860 is approx. 2300 feet. There might be a faster way, but I would run the raster calculator to convert meters to feet. (Multiply the raster by the conversion factor). Then pull your contour labels from your new "feet" elevations.
Hi, I am using ArcGIS Pro. I added in my contour data and I am able to export the contour lines into a dwg file. However the contour elevation data is lost when I open up it in CAD. How do I keep the gis contour elevation when I export it into dwg? Can this be done? Happy to get in touch.
You might have just saved my dissertation. jk but I couldnt figure out why my contour labels were like 190,000... The feature ID was the label when it shoudl have been contour
If you want to change the frequency of contour lines, you should be able to use the attributes (elevations) to select what you want to keep or remove. yes/no?
