Making and Using a Secchi Disk to Measure Pond Clarity 

In recreational fishing ponds that are fertilized, water clarity is the most important indicator to tell you when it is time to fertilize again. In this video, Jill Malecki, an Auburn University Fisheries graduate student, describes how to build and use a secchi disk. This simple disk can be one of the pond owners most important tools in maintaining the fertility of the pond.
