For a while now I've been wanting to make some dry ice cream, and I'm gonna sacrifice an ice cream sandwich. The first step is to remove its skin, and then I have to freeze dry it.

I just got a good laugh imagining astronauts actually trying to eat this in space with crumbs flying everywhere. One of these would probably bring down the ISS.

Fun Fact: Astronaut Ice Cream was never taken into space because it was considered too crumbly.

This logically wouldn’t be used in space because it’s so “hard and crumbly” because astronauts aren’t allowed to have crumbly or crummy food due to the fact that the crumbs can damage equipment

They used to sell astronaut ice cream in little packages at the museum gift shop when I was a kid. For whatever reason I LOVED the texture/taste of it, so for my birthday every year my parents would get me a few of them. :D
