at 11:16 there is a timejump because all of a sudden there is a new tab showing custom1.master - where you do the editing. This is a brand new file - without any explanation. You also edit directly there but only the custom.html was to be edited.
Hi , Can you please explain how you modified the master page at 11:39. What I understand is we can only edit .html file. trying to edit .master files gives an error as you have also mentioned at 4:59.
what you said about design agency meant absolutely nothing. You should probably explain what is design agency. Is it a vendor or an application used for master page design. At the moment I cannot find any master page section in my main site and none of the subsites which does have the Master page in the subsite has the .html page. I did use the site settings to locate the master page but that brings me back to this whole design agency deal. So, right now as of 4:16 I am lost.
Good video, many ta! I'm not sure why it is essential to NOT modify the CUSTOM.master file - I'm viewing the MasterPage directory on UAT and the respective CUSTOM.html file does not exist?!!
nice video thanx a lot , but I still not understand,I can't find SuiteBar in my custom.master page ???, this page looks a same like html page and dont have UI elements like suitebar and s4-ribbon ..... , ??how can I make changes??
What did you do as a workaround? (I know it has been a year since you commented) I ran into the same thing you stated. I am still at the beginning of setting up my SP site out, when he said the second page will automatically create and be linked. I made a copy of the Master page and tried to name it with the same naming convention, but it doesn't allow me to do this. Still working thru the corks of SP13.
In case anyone were wondering, this is what you have to do: You have to copy and rename the .html files, not the .master files. After renaming and (check out) and then it checking in the .html file it will create new .master files from it. You may or may not have to approve the file. Good luck everyone.
Would be nice if you give some a hint/details on that custom.css. Make the pre-baked custom.css and the BGx.png's for download. Is there a template out there that you used too for the pre-baked custom.css? I do not know these "div id=" "placeholders" by heart. And the one from the public site (Edit Style sheet) does not tell me how to change the SuiteBar Left and Right. But I see a lot of people using a same structure as you in the custom.css to change it. Indicating a more advanced template than the public site version .. atos365-public.sharepoint.com/ /* Oslo alternate CSS - modify this file to tweak the current design */ /* HEADER BACKGROUND */ #titlerow{ background-color:rgba(0,0,0,0.9); } custom.css #suiteBarLeft { background-color: #0072C6; color: #fff; width: 100%; vertical-align: middle; } Still need Firefox for this? With IE11 the F12 does the same.
