Wanted to try something a little new, so here we go: I’m embarking into the world of sewing my own clothes at last!
If you’d like to make a circle skirt, this is the formula I found worked best (unless you want a wrap skirt, that is):
Take your waist measurement
Divide it by 3.14
For a 360 degree skirt, divide that number by 2
For a 720 skirt, divide that number by 4
Fold a piece of fabric into a four-layered square and measure your final number from the corner (the one on the fold) to draw a curved line
That’s your waistline
Add your final number to the length you want the skirt to be, measure that from the corner, and draw another curved line
That’s your hem
Cut it out, make a waistband, and sew it all together!
