Ha! (re not snorting it, below). Beautiful end product. Serious question though, do you have any reference for leaching of cobalt from cobalt glass? I like to reheat my tea in the microwave, and my fav glass measuring cup is depression-era cobalt blue... I expect it's not a big issue since we're usually deficient in cobalt, and this is not heated long or high. But I'm still trying to find out... I'm already hypothyroid, so it's not an irrelevant concern. Any info appreciated.
I tried that with silver powder a few years ago, it kind of worked but mostly didn’t, I ended using it inside galaxy marbles with limited success, I think I needed a flux of some kind
Isn't cobalt a carcinogen? I watched a segment about a cobalt glass maker who had been taught how to make it by his elderly father. His exact words were "you throws cobalt at it." I got the impression that the way they did it wasn't mixing, but *throwing* powdered cobalt chloride (?) onto the molten glass.
