"OPERATION GAMMA"
Thanks to Brent Justice (JustGaming4Us) for the Eraun Aduio in part!
Without a response from the Dominion, we are forced to sneak past the Jem'hadar held Deep Space Nine and take a lone runabout into the Gamma Quadrant to try to make contact ourselves.
There is a trader we can apparently contact who can help, but it seems we won't have to wait very long.

Well, there are two things a Starfleet captain hates the most: An Untrustworthy Ferengi Merchant and Federation Paperwork EXPLAINING why you, as Captain, ordered. Your ship to destroy a third of a new space lifeform. The paperwork is murder! I'd rather go have a fist fight with a Borg Gorn. On a planet with 1.5x the earth's gravity. In the middle of a blizzard. At night. With a bag over my head. Also, both arms tied around my back. Should know. I've done my fair share. Ugh....Federation is never happy. Meanwhile, Starfleet looks at a single paragraph and shrugs. Replying: "They fired first. Self-Defense." Also, FYI, Starfleet does not equal Federation.

My captain actually loves logistics work. She finds it weirdly... Therapeutic. Soothing. Just sitting and organising cargo. No sneaking around with a rifle, no war, just boxes. But she loves the frontier more, that's why she haven't accepted the paper pushing jobs just yet. She likes to go down to the cargo decks to personally help the deckhands run the cargo manifest, and catch up with her crew on how the ship is running. "Logistics wins war", she was heard to say.

Ah, the Vorta, genetically engineered to be as slimy as possible. One has to assume the Changelings were initially trying for some kind of hybrid between themselves and the Solids, but wound up with an entire species of used car salesmen instead.

They need to fully rework these 'lost' episodes and get them back in the game. I started playing again, and I noticed several (not full episode long, but more than one) chain missions are gone. Like the first time we meet Drake in Romulan space, some of the other Romulan missions, the True Way taking DS9, saving Sisko from time interfering Borg, etc. OH well.

A lot of those missions I wish would come back myself but the Devs cut them in favor of the newer, more streamlined and "cinematic" mission experience. The saving Sisko mission has a very small chance of coming back but the Romulan and True Way missions aren't. ...unless they still have them sitting around somewhere and can be convinced to put them into the same area they've moved the 2800 and other FE series missions.

Use to Omni-Beams with Beam-overload I or Beam- Fire at will I. You have no problem. And as for the swarmers, the devs have said on P1 that they are in fact the Iconian Swarers from a gateway from that area. Which we do unlock in the feringi mission "Quarks Lucky Seven"

I wasn’t happy with the Worked Bees in this mission, and the audio glitch is SUPER annoying, but I still enjoyed this mission. Also yes my Romulan character kill the Ferengi. He’s not held down by the Federation rules nor the Klingons honor... besides the Ferengi broke rule of acquisition 16: a deal is a deal. And tried to kill a paying client. Why should I show mercy? Also sorry to everyone I accidentally put rule 153 instead of the actual rule, 16.

Isn't that rule "a deal is a deal, but only between Ferengi"? so screwing everyone else would be allowed by that rule I remember correctly, that said my Reman would still not be merciful.

I've always taken the two options to be "Federation" and "Klingon Empire." As a Klingon or Klingon aligned captain I always choose to kill her. I usually choose to spare her when playing a Federation or Federation aligned captain.

Can't count how many time I played this stuff at night and fell asleep to it and dreamed of a star trk style universe. Said it before and will say it again your story blows away all THE ATTEMPTS AT MAKING A STAR TREK "ANYTHING" . CBS should lower their collective heads in shame.

Well, because she is a goblin....I killed her a few times in some replies. After all. I was not in Federation space and I was following the laws of The Dominion. As it is clearly written in the guidelines of the Federation. We have to RESPECT THE LAWS OF OTHER CULTURES. So if we have to blow up a backstabbing space Goblin. Alright. I won't like it but I'll do it. As it is the law within said culture.

This is the mission that made me give up on STO. It took me hours to get rid of those worker bees and the many many Dominion ships that swarmed over me. After a while I thought to myself "My life is not long enough for this"

You need to put a turret in the device slot of your shuttle. Using those really helped me out and you can get them on the exchange for a good price.

it does not at all makes sense that that Vorta could have been Weyoun, as at the end of deep space nine, the last one was destroyed. The founder even specifically said that was Weyoun's last clone.

He is in latter episodes of STO as well. I think they said they took his body back to the Dominion and cloned him again there. Not sure how much memory he has of the Alpha Quadrant, but Odo agreed to it in hopes of getting a Weyoun like the one that tried to defect to him.

I always thought the Founders just kept some genetic stock to clone the new ones from. That way they didn't even have to retrieve the body of the old one, if there even was a body.

I would NEVER board any Runabout other than the Rio Grande. That is the ONLY Runabout that survived all DS9 seasons. “F**k you, Sir. Put me in the brig if you have to, but I’ll not board any DS9 Runabout other than the Rio Grande, Sir.”

I think you undersold how difficult this mission is. I used a Peregrine class fighter, because… well… The sensor cluster sequence is tough enough. You want to take out the work bees early, but if you're having trouble doing that, taking out one of the Jem'Hadar fighters first helps take the heat off. Those swarmers, though. They're quite good at staying behind you, which is a problem in a ship that can only shoot forward. For whatever reason, I just could not get a target lock. I think I managed to kill one. What I ended up doing was sitting on the outside of weapons range, fly in at full throttle, drop a heavy satellite turret, and bail out. That made short work of 'em. This mission might be fun as part of a team. And some of the mission text suggests it's intended to be played that way. It can be quite punishing solo, though.

Have you seen the glitch that puts people through chairs? Also, either fortunately or unfortunately (it depends on your perspective), I have discovered that the Romulan storyline does not end with the establishment of New Romulus. You also take a more active role in hunting down the Tal Shiar. Rick, would you be interested in continuing that storyline with your Romulan character? Romublic captains have 6 unique 'seasons.' There are also seasons completely unique to KDF captains. Unlike the Romulans, they merely total 4. Would you be interested in pursuing these? TOS captains only have 1 unique season to themselves, but in my opinion it is one of the more interesting ones. DSC captains have their origins practically copy-pasted from the standard Starfleet, with their era of Klingons, led by J'Ula, replacing the Borg. It's not very interesting, but it does lead into the rest of the DSC content.

strangely I can somehow see the Spaceballs type of approach of Jamming thier sensors work in Star Trek..... Naturally it wouldnt be strawberry Jam but more likely some alien fruit whichs protein structures and soluble carbohydrates (sugar) form into a certain matrix that reflects and shields the Sensors emissions make for a perfect masking of the Shuttles signature.

Does Starfleet have a Stealth turnabout? After all, the treaty of Algeron only prohibits cloaking technology not all stealth technology.

Technically by this time. The Treaty of Algeron became nullified when the home system or the Romulan Star Empire was the destroyed. And the Empire collapsed. So yeah. Starfleet can put stealth technology on their shuttles. Just the Federation tells Starfleet, don't. As the Federation is narrow minded and shortsighted. As for Stealth Technology, like hiding in plain sight without cloaking. Yeah. Starfleet ships have done that and that is the point of the beginning of the mission. As the shuttle was basically "hidden" by sensors on the station. And should have been hidden by the other ships. But plot reasons. Space is very bright. When in reality. That is not the case.

@@Qardo There is a cloaking device console available, and the Khitomer Alliance Battlecruiser has a built-in (most likely Klingon-derived) cloaking device. (During the Vaadwuar infiltration mission, I realized that my ship did in fact have a cloaking device, which made fixing the holographic disguise easy.

There is a science bridge officer ability that allows player ships to be more difficult to detect. Similar to the stealth technology used in Mass Effect.

Well, you can buy a Kestral Runabout with Dilithium and use it in any Faction. I actually love to use Scorpion Fighter in this mission.

I find one major flaw with this one. Pretty sure at the end of deep space nine the female changeling said that was Weyoun's last clone. That being the case, how is it that there is another one if he was the last one? OK so I know that they can clone, but they're still just making a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy and she said it was the last one for a reason

How i HATED this part of the story... 🤬 And then that double faced ferengi... you can guess how my Starfleet character "changed the deal" after that final stunt she pulled and failed me for the first... and the *LAST* time... (those Dark Side cookies are really delicious) 😈 On the side note... 10 years of the existence... and those interiors are still oversized like no tomorow... 🤦‍♂️

6:30 Are...you mad? You want to violate the Treaty of Cardassia by putting a Federation station onto the Gamma side of the Wormhole? You want to start the 2nd Dominion war, and for no good reason at that? And the Founders see no reason for it. They literally have the quadrant to maneuver, nothing of extreme importance (like Bayor) to defend nearby and no reason to give the enemy a bridgehead to capture. The Dominion can use defense in depth. Only the Federation has to resort to a stationary defense on their end.
