I volunteered at this event where we had an entire day of science labs/classes of all sorts for young girls (hundreds in attendance) to encourage them to get into the field. Exposure is key! Loved you already but love you even more for doing this video! Kudos to Verizon too :)

Yes we must get our girls into science. So many girls love it. I am 42 I love science and it is only now I see how much I love it. My husband is a science buff. We watch your channel for the DIY stuff. I learnt so much here. I am also a herbalist so plants are my friends too. Thank you so muc for your videos and please continue to teacher and encourage your viewers to do something great.

MESA was actually an extremely cool after school class for me. I did presentations on topics that aren't taught a lot. I did a technical paper for my prosthetic arm and it was so fun and I did more cool things!

I have always loved science! Earth science, chemistry, biology... all the different categories of science are so interesting to me and have always been my favorite subjects in school. I am a junior in high school and am a part of the legal studies program in my school and have also taken an interest in law enforcement so my plans for college have been to study forensic science for a while now. People always think its weird that I have a passion for science, law and makeup but I don't really care what they have to say. Why can't I be a forensic scientist and a makeup artist on the side? Lol

Ever since I was about 9 I've wanted to do science and chemistry and I still really want to. I love making my own cosmetics because my skin is soooo sensitive. I'm 14 now and I absolutely love science :) I love your videos and your so inspiring :)

I have always been a fan of science and math. They are like universal languages that are easily understood and are potent on our future. I volunteered at medical centers and helped math teachers evaluate students' skills. Currently, I'm really excited to take the courses I need to prepare myself for Med School, hopefully becoming a physician in the near future.

I am majoring in Chemistry and want to be a cosmetic formulator so the statistic that so few women work in the field is really interesting and inspires me to work harder :)

I did science (biology) and maths at college and still couldn't get a job in that field. Neither could most of my friends. I wish I did something more employable at the same time. I don't regret taking science but it's not all it's cracked up to be.

I love science, I am doing a Plant Science major in uni and this program seems amazing. Lot of children are scared to get in to the science field thinking there are no good jobs, its hard to study. But it is just so fascinating to learn about these. Thanks for sharing this Lisa :) Also, I really really hope you start your own skin care line very soon. I would totally buy if you do :) xoxo

In 7th grade we went to STEM fair at a local technical college. We learned that Science, Technology, Economics, and Math are used mire than people actually think.

I'm only 16 and i'm actually interested in majoring in Chemistry. When I tell people that's what I want to do they always seem to doubt me, and say it'll be very difficult for me. I'd love to develop formulas for makeup in the future, hopefully (-:

You will rock in Chemistry and do amazing things for the world. When I was 16, my guidance counselor didn't have faith that I would get into pharmacy school because of my learning disability. No matter the obstacle, you can overcome it like I have and still working on it=) Cheering for you!

Hi Stephanie, I really commend you for wanting to pursue Chemistry, keep that fire alive, that is what will help you get through it! I just graduated from college and I majored in Chemistry, and I will tell you right now, no, it is not easy. It is incredibly difficult. But it is that difficulty that will launch you into any job that you want. Don't worry that you might not know everything or have the experience that you need. Get to know as many professors as possible, do summer research and work really hard in school, ok? Also: get sleep and find a hobby haha. It will help. Good luck!

I love you even more now !!! Thank you for spreading the word about this campaign. As a psych graduate we learned about this gender gap in stem and other professions. I dislike that society does that and it starts from when we're infants :/. But loveeee the idea of you using your pharm background to make cosmetics I've been a subscriber for a long time and cannot wait until you start selling all the awesome skin are and makeup you make :D :D you've inspired me to research and make my own stuff over the years :)

I'm just getting into bio chem this first year of college however I am looking into changing to Chem and ironically I was looking into cosmetic chemistry the other day and I swear this is a sign :) thanks And i agree more women should be in stem majors. there's only 20 girls in a class of 47 for biochem at my school and its unfortunate considering my school is 60% women.

Cool :) Needs to be more women in science. I work in dietetics and out of all of my colleagues, I'm the only female one...hardly any girls interested in science when I was in school.

I don't think the problem is that girls aren't interested in science because studies have shown that almost all girls enjoy science. The problem is the social stereotypes of gender roles on women. There are girls out there that are extremely intellectual and have plans to pursue a career as a Chemist but colleges don't even give them a second glance because they are "girls". I'm not saying that this video isn't inspiring because OH IT IS! I'm just stressing my views on the subject.

The reason men hold more of those jobs is because women know they will probably get pregnant, and you will get fired if you can't work full time at those jobs.
