The it feels like if you leave you will not have a source of life and care. Attachments are real, especially when one doesn't have other strong meaningful relationships. Best to never have the bf/gf as the only important relationship. People must have real friends and other strong meaningful relationships so they know they can still be covered and have people that care about them if they leave the abusive relationships. These other relationships will give courage to not tolerate the oppressive ones.
