Making Crab Shrimp Eyes For Fly Tying - DIY Fly Tying Tips and Tricks 

For those eyes... I cut a bit more than 1/4" off the end of a plastic drinking straw. Then I make a little smear of Loon Knot Sense (any UV resin will do) - just enough to stick one open end of the straw section to a sheet of Post-It (or whatever). I cure the straw to the paper and then I have I little reservoir for the UV resin to make the eyes. The rest of it is as you describe. Dip and cure, rinse and repeat as necessary. I use a small block of styrofoam and poke the stems into it until I decide whether or not to de-tackify them or just use them as they are. Cheers!

I'm a nail tech...instead of using nail polish and the gel...you should look in to what we call shellac for doing nails on the ladies...its gel that has color in it already...and you just dry it with a uv light...the color won't ever come off

Great video, i've been making these for Peterson's Spawning Shrimps and Mantis Shrimps all day. Instead of nail varnish I have been using sharpie marker, the top coat of Clear Cure Goo seems to adhere fine to it and should stop it rubbing off (I hope)

Good idea. My technic is simple: I use small collar balls, and I stick the pieceoff line in the eye with superglue. Those looks well.
