As it turns out, all that work making the custom curved blade ceiling fans didn't go away unused! From the ArtinAir G48's metal junkyard looking blades to the Globe's blades that look like they were made by someone who knew half of what they're doing, all that progress brought me to the point where I'm finally trusted to work on a real antique ceiling fan, not just a retro fan I threw together in my workshop from parts of relatively new fans. Also lucky for me, I obtained a fan that's in need of a new set of curved blades. I could've given it full size 56" blades, but 2 reasons why I didn't was; A, my aluminium sheet isn't thick & hard enough for a 56" span fan blade with minimum pitch. So in other words, the blade will flutter when the fan is in full speed, and sag when the fan is off. 2, I saw opportunity to use it to practice making proper looking blade sets with complex curvatures.
I didn't really achieve what I intended to achieve in this project which is to make blades that have smooth factory looking curvatures on them, but I'm alright with that because I have both proven & disproven things that I had simulated in my brain for far too long, and that's far better than having a homemade fan with perfect everything.
