Making Custom Acrylic Powders Using CHALK (again) 

If you used lets say 5 teaspoons of clear, and 1 and a half of white.. the application would be much more smooth, and still real opaque. Just a tip.

When doing acrylic swatches I reccommed using the top side of the swatch to avoid any colour discrepancies! Great video however! I think you should bring out your own powders, you have impeccable taste ❤

White acrylic is actually a little harder to work with. I've been making my own colored acrylic for 6 years. If you use 1 part white, to 3 parts clear it comes out and opaque color like you're looking for, and is way easier to work with. I've even found you can use less white than that and it still comes out opaque. Sure this is too late for you, but for anyone looking to make acrylic mixes in the future. Edit:spoke too soon, see you did end up doing more clear than white. 💛

For the glitter ones, try putting the acrylic on top of the swatch otherwise the plastic will dull the glitter ☺️ LOVE these videos btw 🔥

To be honest the clear worked a lot better than the white, i wish you used both greens and ombred! Elwynn forest is my fav

I personally think Alien Spit and some kind of electric blue would look great for a set 😊

I was so excited to see another one of these videos! From personal experience, to get the glitter to show up on the other side, rotate your brush and basically place the bead upside down. Cause when you go in to lift the bead from the jar the glitter is stuck closest to the bristles so by flipping your brush you can place it glitter-side-down instead of the bulk of the colored powder! hope that helps :D

I think it’s drying so quick because you put a lot of chalk, a little goes a long way love!

When using this method, I highly recommend using mortar and pestle to blend colour with acrylics to have a flawless result. Thanks for the inspiring video.

I’m not trying to rude like I luv ur vids but the reason the swatch’s r showing kinda trash on the sticks is cuz it’s flipped so putting the stuff on the inside would make the other side the under of the nail that’s y the back looks better then the frount so if u want an accurate example then put it on like real nail not on the inside like u we’re doing

You don't need a lot of chalk and that goes for any acrylic making even when using pigments. Use a tiny bit of coloured chalk or pigment then clear and only a tiny bit of white to make the colour more intense. So 60 % or70% clear 10% white then 20% colour and glitter. Doing it this way will make it work so much better and easier to work with.

You can get a really fine mesh skimmer from amazon to sift out the particles before use. I just recently started making my own and it helps get out those unblended bits also I'm getting a grinder thing from amazon to have it better mixed

When you use the swatch sticks put it on top of the rounded side like you were actually doing a mail instead of the underside

I would suggest using pastel chalk because it goes down smoother and it's really bright and it doesn't go to like dry or chalky it's perfect

The lady from absolute nails does her swatches in the dual forms and then just pops them out when they completely dry to get a really good effect for her swatches. Maybe you can try that?

I make my mixes with chalk as well and as a final mix I use a mortar and pestle and it removes 99.99% of the left over chunkies. ❤

Soft pastels have more pigments, since they’re meant to be used when drawing. The polygel idea sounds amusing.

You should've mixed all the colors together EXCLUDING black chalk.

I love Modelones acrylic and monomer.

They look really lovely Emily I like the colours & glitters you used today they are gorgeous, i too used to apply my acrylic mixes on the inside of the swatch stick because they look so much nicer that way but I found the glitters I added for some strange reason didn’t shine through so much i decided to add my mix on the reverse side of the stick 1st thing I noticed was the sequins & the glitters✨i’d added looked so much nicer they would sparkle and you could see the glitters so clear I don’t know why they don’t sparkle as much if you put the mix on the inside of the stick that’s so weird isn’t it? I don’t bother using the reverse side no more only because I find if you use the front side to apply the product you can lightly buff the acrylic after it’s dried brush the dust off then apply a clear UV gel topcoat for the final finish they look so pretty with the topcoat, who would of thought chalk could produce such beautiful nails? I love the colours you mixed especially the dragon spit that one is my favourite they were all beautiful though, thank you for sharing another awesome video, looking forward to your next video have a beautiful day Emily👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🌹🌷🌼🌸💐🌺🌾🥀

I’d recommend using soft pastels, good soft pastels are primarily pigment but chalk has filler ingredients in it!

I love how you don’t make us listen to the sound of the chalk grinding! I hate certain dry sounds/textures (like sand dried on skin, baking soda, etc.) like my body literally reacts without my control😂😂
