Truly amazing talk, Cassie is wonderful and this was both heart warming and difficult to hear. In my previous roles in the company I work for much of the data science work I produced was not appreciated for 6-12 months after the fact. Some of that was due to my early tenure in the company, but it was also due to people above me not knowing much about the techniques / tools I was using and not being able to either help bridge the communication to management (decision makers), or to take action themselves.
