Your way of ball, resembles the team fortress 2 "roamer". That one is played usually alone on the flanks, quickly approaching getting some kills and disengaging even faster, getting a health pack and getting right back in there. I think we can adopt the name.
Ball rework ideas Health 200 Armor 350 Hook skill: Allow to also hook characters to bring yourself to enemies. If you complete the hook, you boop into them or you may stay attached to them and the hook can function as normal, allowing you to fast roll into the area next to the character you hooked. Adaptive shield becomes a passive activating whenever you are hit with a CC. Each cc hit within 3secs activates adaptive shield (max stacks of 3 for 100/150/200 or +450 total). Reaching max stacks puts adaptive shield on cd for 12sec Slam skill damage is adjusted based on height slam initiates. Smaller height slams hit for much less than high height slams. Damage 30-120 maximum (or something like this) Fast roll boop damage should also be adjusted based on speed you hit a character coming in OR with a max speed boop cause a new cc *disorient* where the charcter can not auto attack for .75sec. New active skill replacing adaptive shield. A skill that transforms ball into spikes that causes bleed damage when coming into contact with enemies. Bleed can leave a trail on the ground sending ball into frenzy mode that increases his damage by 20%. Ultimate landmines Although the mines can work differently. If activated in the air, landmines explode upon dropping to the ground. If on the ground lands as normal but can stick to ball if he rolls past them allowing to explode on contact with enemies. (Can stack 3 mines to himself maximum)
Make adaptive shield into a barrier instead of overhealth, give teammates 25 overhealth on use, and only generate 60 points of barrier health per enemy so you have to be near all 5 possible enemies to get the full 300.
Thank you for saying that. “Just kill better” so many people are concerned about counter swapping. Like is anyone actually good with a character they like?
Eichenwalde is where not only did I get my highest kill count but also my highest KD ratio all with ball. Got 50 kills one game and another I went 48-3
It is a great ball map if you know the grapple spots. Use the lamp post to grapple over the buildings on the left side. On defense, camp enemy spawn on the left ledge and get an early slam for charge.
As a plat ball. I can confirm that spin to win does indeed work and you literally don’t die unless you get CC’d. These hi rank games have absolutely insane 3-5 second predictions constantly. I don’t even have 1k hours in the game. I guess that and aim will come in the next 2-3k hours if I play that much.
Really the biggest part of ranking up it seems is game sense and confidence. If you're calm and cool and feel ready to attack any situation in game, you'll do better than someone who acts first and doesn't think later, or someone who panics and stresses. You stay alive a lot more by reading and predicting enemy movements, which then helps with aim. Something something work smarter not harder. The hard route is pure aim training which in this game cannot compensate for ultimates, coordinated enemies, and big burst damage.
Calling ball "slow" when hes literally one of the if not THE fastest tank in the roster is a hilarious hottake, his movement ceiling literally outclasses almost the whole cast. also, every league comp that used ball has used them as dive/displacement, just like Doom. He would be considered an off dive only because of his chaotic and sporadic play loop, its just not traditional and involves more off angles and flanks, but would still classify as dive/displacement if you had to comcast it. Just my 2 cents on it, feel Free to disagree with me, you won't change my mind because Chasm literally states Mei is a Tank in the dps class, so its not hard to infer that ball is just a duo style tank like Rammatra being a poke/brawl mix.
hey chazm, i'm a big fan of yours and starting to one trick ball, and i have a question: idk exactly when i should use my cds on him and i think thats what im messing up the most when playing him, do you have any tips?
not chazm but your most important cd to time is adaptive shields, if they have a lot of cc on their team, look to get your adaptive shields in earlier in front of as many people as you can when you engage, so you can live through cc, if they don’t have cc you can probably save adaptive shields and use it later if you have to. Basically, just base your engagement around adaptive shields cooldown, and you can use both grapple and piledrive to engage but sometimes it’s better to hold on to grapple and try and piledrive off something else.
Idk if its elo hell or not but ive been maining ball for a long time, and I'll have games where I'll have 20-30+ elims and less that 4 deaths yet for some odd reason, stuck at plat 5 or will even drop to gold 1. I dominate in my games, and i win most of the games, any tips on how to climb higher?
I completely disagree with his viewpoint of just kill the enemy more and die less being the difference between ranks. It's important, sure, but it's all about the brain. I was stuck in plat for years and one day things just started clicking and now I'm low/mid GM. I was all aim, no brain. Now I know how to play the game correctly. That was the difference. If you play smart and don't have such great tracking, you'll climb.
He’s in a gm1 lobby. Are you gm1 skill level? Maybe you have trouble estimating how much damage you will taking and when to get out? Imo lower ranks tend to afk and shoot tank more too.
Wow... if you wanted to describe an average person without sounding insane you should've just said so. Chazm would clearly be fat, small, and furry. Who in hell watches chazm and thinks he is human?
Kiriko, Bap, Brig, Sigma, Mauga, Illari, Sojourn, Orisa... all dogshit additions to the game that have tanked the balance or fun of the game to varying degrees when added. Overwatch is truly fumble city with its development
