Your Grey Knights look so much better than the original ones. Can't wait to see them all painted up, and I am really looking forward to seeing your gaming board too. Your videos are always super inspiring and easy to follow. Thanks for sharing!
I just did this, im amazed with myself. The chopping of the bodies wasn't as scary as I thought it would be, and now im waiting for the green stuff to dry. Absolutely awesome, I was so buzzed after watching this and imagining myself doing it. Then I said fuck it and just did it. Thanks Terminator man. Hope to watch more of your videos soon.
Thank you so much for being such an awesome figure for hobbying. It’s so nice to know that all ages can enjoy this hobby. I can’t wait until I’m an expert painter and collecter like you
Roman: Thanks for your appreciation. Well, like you say it I feel like 80 years old now. I am just 40 and still 7 in my heart. I look older and wiser I know. I am a Grey Knight.
Roman, I adore your Grey Knight conversions; they've inspired me to finally make my own GK force - I first fell in love with the faction 20 years ago, but never began an army as the sculpts were so goofy. But you've shown us how we can fix them! I'd love to see a guide from you on how you painted them. I've seen some of the photos on your website - the lighting and shadow effects on the armour are especially impressive.
I may butcher a Grey Knight box and my Leviathan termies this weekend... I'm very apprehensive about it but yours came out looking so damn on-brand! They really FEEL like Grey Knights!
Roman: Thank you! If you check back with my Instagram you Will find five more Terminators. I will do a video of the Strike Squad and an Interceptor one soon. They are already build, just did not get around to edit the video.
@@ROMANLAPPATMINIATUREART incredible. I picked up the gray nights for the exact same reason you did, even after reading the book too. I have models from 10 years ago and as soon as the primaris came out I looked at my old guys and thought oof, hope they get them across the Rubicon soon. Very much looking forward to the next batch
These look so cool! Love the proportions, details, poses, and overall variety. Only thing I'd change is the storm bolter barrels. I like that the leviathan terminators went back to two barrels.
This is absolutely amazing!! I'm in a similar boat with 40k and also dropped out around 5th/6th edition. But can't quite put my finger on where I want to go coming back in and was looking at GKs myself but also wanted more beefy and dynamic looking minis. This is the perfect inspiration I needed to know the dream isn't impossible! ^^ Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Your other stuff looks incredible also so deffo going to sub and catch up on all your older vids too. Keep up the amazing work! :)
Thank you Roman for this video. I so appreciate the honesty you share about that difficult first cut, early in the video and then later in the tips. How do you feel once you've made that first cut?
I have 1 point of critique to your awesome conversion: they dont' look like aegis terminatopr armor because of the backside of the generator thank you for the conversion and showing the result, it was exactly what I needed to do my adjustments so mine look the way I wanted. To solve this issue I had with your method I took the whole Torso of the GK teerminator and not just the front, but then put it a big higher up and filled the void with putty.
I'm looking forward to seeing your paint these guys. I recently found sets of 3D printed truer scale Grey Knights that I got my hands on and have been looking for ways to paint them without using any metallics for their armor, for a more "grimdark" feel.
Roman: Sounds really cool. I am a too big GW Fanboy to use differe t models. I will use differenr methods but a lot of true metallic metal and try to keep them grimdark all the way
Not all of them yet. Only 5. I had a pinched nerve the last couple of months that made my painting go really slow. There will be a guide in the future! Stay tuned!
Found you by the whim of the Algorithm Gods ... By God those models are amazing 😍 Also - an Audiobook about Grey Knights Vs Dark Mechanicum would be epic in your voice ;)
LOVE the video! Thanks a lot for sharing this, you made me buy some stuff..xD. Im eagerly awaiting for the regular GK marines one, and for your etsy painting tutorial!
Thanks for sharing this incredible conversions. Do you think that kitbash is possible with the new deathwing knights terminators bodies? I like them because the tabard in all the bodies, but they look less taller then the leviathan ones
Do you have a time frame of when you may release the painting guide? I am really loving this and am in the same opinion of the army. I love the army but can not commit to doing them due to their size. Now I’m going to go head on because of your videos! Thank you so much!!
Unfortanetely no. I had planned to Release it prior to Christmas then pinched a nerve on my left shoulder. Was not able to paint as much as I wanted for the guide. Keep an eye out. It will be there in the future.
Roman: Happy to hear! In fact I am just about creation and not creating high end stuff in terms of editing. I saw some mistakes here and there, but hey I made a video without overcomplicating it ... More to come! Always happy to have you with me on this channel and really looking forward if Monte works out this year!
These look great, I’m in a bit of a weird place with GK at the moment. I have 1k with some options but I’m reluctant to expand, although who knows if/when GW will update GK squads. I did make my terminators bigger by using tubing as a space between the legs and torso. They aren’t chunky like the new boys but they do look much better. I’d love to do this but just can’t quite bring myself to spend near £60 per squad of 5 😢
I know what you mean with the weird place. This is why I went for those, but I had not a single one when I started. I think it would be different if I would already have 1K points. Let's see where GW will take these! All the best to you and your GK!
Anyone else imagining this man as a torturer speaking to his victims or is it just me? "I'll tell you, the first cut is always the deepest." Just me? Okay, I'll see myself out.
What Super Glue do you use? Do you have Tips for that? I am sceard to change my Glue i want to change it because i destroyed some of my miniature by changing things😢 is UHU Glue ok or should i buy a specific glue?
Roman: I am using the cheapest superglue I can find as I need large amounts. The brands I use do change and differ from time to time, at the moment I use "Evergglue" ... well, considering your question I might not be the best person to give you tips and feedback as I use superglue like a wild boar.
Stimmt. Da war ich aber zu faul. Wollte es nicht zeitlich ausufern lassen, da mir meine Erfahrung zeigt, dass ich sonst den Spaß verliere und es nie fertig mache ...
Roman: Happy you liked it! Sure I will show the painted ones when they are done. Right now they are in process. As soon as they are finished I will let you know and show them :)
Roman: Das freut mich sehr.
Roman: I was superlazy with this video and filmed almost everythinf with my Samsumg S22 phone. Some parts are filmed with a Lumix and the Showreel part is filmed with a Sony Alpha 7.
just out of curiousity, dont you want one of them to have a psycannon or flamer instead of a storm bolter? Since they are all free now i can only recomend it.
Why bother trying to keep the regular backs? I kept 5 new terminators to make 5 of my Grey Knights taller (I like height variation, since they’re not clones) but I’m planning to just cut them in half and mold a semi circle to top the legs as they would be in a multi pose kit, then just add some bits to make the legs appropriately fancy. Are they not wide enough? Great tips at the end.
I am currently going to the process of building my own Gray nights And I'm converting them into my own Custom version of the lost 11th legion Thankfully the only real work I have to put in is Shaving off a bunch of the shoulder and chest Details painting And making custom fox tails Using spiral notebook wire with epoxy putty And attaching The horus heresy Space Wolves Mecha Wolf helmets And because I have blue stuff I can make copies of the heads and details So I don't have to buy a bunch more of the heads And I don't need a crazy amount of models to make a 1000 point army Also my brother has a resin printer So if I really wanted to I can have him print some Files of bodies for me And not have to give gw any more money Because I mean 45 USD Just 4 1 sprue For a named character like crowe Is a bit ridiculous When I can spend that same amount of money Get a bottle of resin And paint from the dollar store And make pretty much the whole army
