I laughed so hard when you couldn't open the boxes, but in a 'that would happen to me' way. They are still cute and i can't wait to try these!🍰 Pd: i just read the "so functional!" on the thumbnail and it made it funnier

If you added too much water to the spackle (I suggest using a spray bottle filled w water, then spritz a little at a time), you can then add regular flour ( I tend to end up not using all the flour I buy for my own kitchen and when it expires I use it for fake bakes & other crafts that use flour or you can buy a small bag at Dollar Tree bc you dont need a lot) to it to thicken it up. Sometimes when you add paint to it, it can water it down too, then itll spread and collapse like the blue frosting did :) Hope that helps!

oh i love this, so cute and fluffy and satisfying :))) the irony is that for crafts you want to make frosted cakes look as amateur and rough as possible (so the frosting looks realistic), but when frosting real cakes (even the cute bento kind) you want to make it look as smooth as possible LOL

i didn't read the title and clicked on the video thinking it was real cakes cause i needed to make one for my mom's birthday then i saw and realized, i didn't click off, watched the whole 12 min video. I can conclude and say it was a very fruitful use of my time

The totally real cakes look amazing but I have a few tips for next time 1 try spreading the patch n paint with a knife so it can be easier to spread 2 if you don’t have gouache paint then you can use food coloring or just paint 3 if you are good with the piping try adding lots of details 4 if it’s your first time doing it try watching more videos so you can see what’s happening 5 it won’t look perfect still try your best and practice 6 more tips added soon

I literally made one when I saw it I’d also suggest if your spackling is really stiff I’d recommend adding water to it Do NOT add water if its already smooth it really depends on the brand tbh

If you have a higher budget/are working on a smaller scale, you could use modeling paste to avoid the grainy texture and get a more convincing 'iceing'

Id also recomend useing painters tape or maskeing tape around the overlap for the lids to get a clean edge

Also also if a budget were to permit it Id recomend priming your boxes woth a white paint/paint similar to the color of your frosting to prevent seeing the cardboard

I feel like stuff made by someone else looks better to us because it’s not our own work where we immediately judge ourselves and see every imperfection. But looking at others you see the final piece and it looks effortlessly perfect. Go for it! And if it’s not to your standard you can also try again!
