The Deepnest really feels like the in-universe equivalent of the creepy woods no one ever enters for obvious reasons. Cornifer not visiting there would make sense to me for that reason alone; there also might not be enough light for him to do his work. I don't blame you for getting lost. I don't understand why the Protagonist lacks the ability to draw his own maps. Can I ask why you didn't talk to the cultists before sitting on their trap bench? Usually you catch all the dialogue, and I'm not sure what was different that time. I'm enjoying whatever awakening-the-old-gods plotline is going on here, even if it doesn't make any sense for now.
There HAS to be a map for Deepnest tho. Otherwise, I can't ever be sure if I cleared its entirety. I may have to check the town with Iselda at some point. Truue! Cornifer may have his limits. (tho I expect he came prepared?) I don't mind too much, tho we are able to update the map ourselves on the bench with the quill ^ I'd also like to imply that the other adventurers aren't using game mechanics as we are. Based off of Tiso, he doesn't use the Stag to travel. and I'd imagine Quirrel has been travelling through memory and doesn't need a map. And Zote, he's just crushing it! LOL okay okay, I didn't know it was a trap! otherwise I would've talked to them first. (gah) Looking back, it was similar to when I took the bench first before talking with Leg Eater. I need to see what they'd have said too. I think we are awaking something horrifying, while exposing some dark truths. And in addressing these uncovered truths, we are left with an opportunity to change the system that is bleeding (the orange disease). The Dreamers appear to be aware of the plague but set that worry aside due to their duty of protecting the vessel. Meaning, the plague is caused by something else, but then that prophet mentioned union with the light. Hmm!!!
Yeah, I think you need to pay a visit to Cornifer/Iselda at this point. Quirrel is OP for being able to do all that from memory, but the rest of us mere mortals need maps. Oh, I don’t blame you for the trap (I mean. That’s what makes it a trap, right? You didn’t know). If you find something that has the dialogue, will you tell us? I tried looking for it myself but I stopped out of fear of spoilers lol. There is a definite Put Right What is Wrong vibe to the plot here, but not without the Protagonist committing some Wrongs of his own on the way, I suspect 😕
