Making Good a Badly Fitted Tow Bar to a Volkswagen T-Roc 

This video demonstrates why you need to have the correct tow bar electrics installed to your vehicle.
This vehicle is a 2022 Volkswagen T-Roc with a ‪@tow-trusttowbars5559‬ detachable swan neck tow bar.
This customer came to us after having a tow bar installed by a third party at a Volkswagen main dealer which had some tow bar related issues. Because the original installer used a bypass relay for the electrics the vehicle didn't know that you would have a trailer connected. So as demonstrated in the video the vehicles emergency braking system preformed an emergency stop when the customer tried to reverse. This is because the vehicle mistook the customers bike rack for an object.
We removed the bypass relay system and installed the correct vehicle specific electrics and coded the vehicle for towing.
We also noticed that the original installer had installed the tow bar incorectly which resulted in cutting the bumper. This you do not have to do if it is fitted correctly.
