I remember back in the day when all you saw were families baling straw and hay without the kickbaler. We used to ride the top of the wagon all the way to the barn lol. Now we just wait at the barn to unload.

Thanks! No, I just have a regular Nextel phone. It calls it mobile when I first upload it for some reason. I don't worry about my camera breaking, I made a small frame that completely encloses it from all sides. I basically slide it under the strings and let it fly!

@HisWayFarm I am fully aware of that, this hay was rained on. There is nothing you can do about that. We strive to grow the highest quality for the horse market and are well aware of what high quality hay is. Our hay is such high quality that it sells immediately and we really can't grow enough of it. The stuff like this is fine for our dry and breeding dairy animals but milkers are fed high quality hay.

LOL , its fun trying to stack and not get hit by the next bale and I have had that happen before so that is why I just kick on what will fit 125 to 150 per wagon

camera on the bale was a great idea. Very original. Did you just stick the camera on there and hope for the best? Or did you have some kind of protection for it?

@judderjones We had a terrible time with the kicker on the baler last year! One bale would be perfect and the next one will bi over the wagon. Since it is new we are having the valve replaced under warranty.

Methinks that hay had been on the ground for quite some time before it was baled , ( dark coloured hay, the regrowth looked very green ) Had you had some rain?

how about putting the camera in the field before cutting the grass so we can see the whole process from the grass point of view, cutting turning and going throught the bailer.

The bummer about using a baler with a kicker is that is really jostles the bales. They don't stay tight. On top of that, you gotta get someobody to unload that thing. Essentially you are having to handle to product twice to store it. Whereas with a bale wagon..one guy...one air conditoned vehicle..loading about 120 50lb bales into the wagon automatically and then unlaoding the entire load in one tilting manuever. About one minute. Perfect stack. Tight. Just need the proper storage building.

Do you put up round bales also?

The 4020 is powershift so that is why is runs the baler. I would like to replace it with a 6420.

The thrower adds too much weight aft of the axle. It needs a sprung dolly wheel or wheels under it. That M&W rake looks the same as my Befco.

About 120-140 if you are good at loading it.

Typical horse person to picky nothing wrong with it tbh but having said that rye grass which is very dry and course is the best hay you can get, very nutritional

you can't beat a 348 baler...new holland guys w/ 575's drool at what 348's can do... we have 4 and they each do about 30,000/year (so everyone make sure you don't buy ours after trade in haha) i like big bales though...less work! (but less $)

Seems like your a bit rough on equipment,keep your R.P.M.s up but slow your ground speed down.The baler is "flogging" because of the drag of the wagon,even it out.

That hay looks very dry. Nothing Nutritional about them. If your feeding cows I guess its alright. But for horses, yuck! Horses like the Green stuff, they have a tough time Digesting the dry brown stuff.
