He has changed my life. I am a cardiologist and changed my practice to focus on prevention and reversal of heart disease using plant based diets. The research is solid. He is inspirational. We need to shift our broken “healthcare” system to a lifestyle medicine model focused on the farmacy NOT the pharmacy!!!

After completed the Plant Based Cert with eCornell have open alot of hopes to people with any forms of illnesses can be reversible to WFPBD.. The China study with Dr T Campbell is real step to understanding the causative agent of animal protein..the culprit of all.

Thank you for changing! My Cardiologist told me Plant-based or die. I have Familial Hypercholesterolemia and can’t take meds. 2.5 years Paleo almost killed me. It took a while but the outcome was the same. I am back on track now with plants, fasting, and just completed a triathlon, I turn 62 in October!

5 years ago I was ill, painful fatty liver disease, diabetes, etc. I switched to a whole-food plant-based diet. My diabetes went away. My cardiac calcium score is zero. I'm a grandma of 7, and everyone in my family died of complications related to heart disease, diabetes, and cancer, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, nephropathy, neuropathy, peripheral vascular disease. I refuse that destiny. Thank you for giving me hope and the tools to live well. Forks over knives!

Well, I've been on this diet for over a year, minus cheating with oils and had cheese about 5 times and one teen burger. Results, which may be psychosomatic are: dropped 40 lbs in 6 weeks and kept 30 of it off for a year. Sleep apnea is gone. Breathing is clear for the first time in my life. Bp has dropped 20 points. All stomach/intestinal issues disappeared in 3 days. Stronger muscles with more endurance. I require less sleep (7 hours) now. I was hoping to avoid meat and dairy for a year...now I can't see myself going back...I feel twenty years younger. Oh and a lot of my aches and pains have gone away too, including chest pain. I am currently 50 years old.

+Boyer Coe Partially wrong. Live expectancy and diet have a linear corralation. You increase your live expectancy and general health by getting rid of animal products. Smoking and drinking result in specific diseases. Drinking is a part of someones diet, if that person has a health risk from it. Smoking: Most prominently lung cancer and increased body acidity (really bad, because inflamation risk increases). Extreme and consistant drinking: Heart: Cardiomyopathy - Stretching and drooping of heart muscle Arrhythmias - Irregular heart beat, Stroke, High blood pressure. Research also shows that drinking moderate amounts of alcohol may protect healthy adults from developing coronary heart disease. Liver: Variety of problems and liver inflammations including: Steatosis, or fatty liver Alcoholic hepatitis Fibrosis Cirrhosis Pancreas: Alcohol causes the pancreas to produce toxic substances that can eventually lead to pancreatitis, a dangerous inflammation and swelling of the blood vessels in the pancreas that prevents proper digestion. Cancer: Drinking too much alcohol can increase your risk of developing certain cancers, including cancers of the: Mouth Esophagus Throat Liver Breast. Conclusion: What i want to say is that your mother isnt "healthy", because she doesnt drink and smoke. It most definetly has something to do with her diet choices, so you were right with the drinking part, but she is this healthy, because she either has really good genes and/or she is on top of her diet/has an andequate diet.
@Aaron31056

Yes, this may be true, but you cant take single excamples and generalize it, because each person is different in terms of genetics.

and he probably was taking a bunch of pills for illnesses that you don't know about...just because someone makes it to a certain age but are meat-eaters, doesn't mean they're extremely healthy....the data is there in front of our eyes...it's just a matter if we want to change or not....I'm a meat-eater, and I am researching and learning so I can transition to veganism....with such concrete data and analysis at my finger tips, i'd be remiss to ignore it.....but if you don't care about your health and want to be lazy (which many of us meat-eaters are) then we'll come up with excuses etc.

I'm trying to get the word out, you have an advantage unfortunately due to your circumstance. Sad fact that most people only listen to those who have gone through the traumatic event. My family members say 'well you have to die of something', then in a few years they will be forking over their life savings for a few more years. Upsetting but this is the consequence of trying to educate yourself to the best lifestyle. Can't even shift them on the environmental and ethical issues either :(

I feel the best when I am on a carnivore diet. 90% of my diet is meat, the rest is dairy products. No processed food, very little plant and fruit. I exercise, drink bone broth and wheatgrass juice, eat raw cacao, consume high amounts of vitamin C, ginger tea and a few other things. My heart and cardiovascular system is in textbook perfect condition. When I switched to plant based diet, I started experiencing all sorts of bad things, weight gain, brain fog, sleeping more, fatigue, etc. We are not the same.

@spirgtudsrubec7776
@spirgtudsrubec7776 5 лет назад
Joe D that's a presumption on your behalf. I don't work in the dairy or meat industry, in my opinion grass fed meat from natural farms using natural fertilizer is healthy food, the same goes for butter some cheeses and wild fish and naturally grown vegetables, especially leafy greens. The biggest problem in the built up world today is the big corporate entities pushing their overly processed products onto the shelves of the supermarkets which covers all elements of food. if you go into a grocery or supermarket today to buy healthy food, you will be hard pushed to find anything that resembles genuine good food. So this battle between veganism and carnivore etc is irrelevant when both are being sold in both the good and bad forms of themselves. Whats more important is to educate ourselves about the good and bad version of our foods, and buy from the genuine producer and not the pusher of bad food and bad health, and stop blaming each other. Eat good whole foods, avoid synthetic or chemical processing etc. This is the formula for good health, also eat less often, only when you are genuinely hungry and eat less at a sitting. like i said this is my opinion, but it comes from years of research both at a science and practical level, but i am not a Scientist or a Doctor by profession.I am just an ordinary person with an ordinary job, that educated himself about health and well - being. I Also believe the biggest killer in today's world is not heart disease, but high stress levels from the corporate sector push for profits. This has come about from a well oiled Advertising machine which will not refuse money, and the bigger the funding the better. And last but not least, the lack of connection now among people all over the built up world is a major cause of illness especially emotionally, caused by the massive surge in the digital corporate world, which of course lines their pockets, and of course also the pockets of the psychiatric and medical industries. So, their are many corporate interests out there, you already mentioned two,. you see at that level of industry, health and well - being are not part of the plan. No, the industry must grow and expand and make money and become a powerful entity in the corporate ladder.

Sadly, I am now convinced our medical system is now being subsidized by the pharmaceutical industry based on what tests they are recommending and what tests they should be giving such as AC1 tests for diabetes as 1 of 3 people now have at least prediabetes but they wait to treat that with drugs when it gets really bad. Our medical industry makes money off of keeping people sick.

Definitely to reconsider how we eat. I will be doing further investigation on the same. I am concerned about the adequacy of protein, bio-availability of iron, employing such a diet in special groups eg young children, elderly etc. Definitely interested... to make this a lifestyle change and not just a fad.
@MissPolymer

Mystee Prince also check out nutritionfacts dot org for scientific based info provided by a Dr Greger, he reviews peer-reviewed research papers on vegan diet and related subjects. If you're worried that you won't get enough nutrients try to track your food with some apps like cronometer (free!) and see how you're doing regarding protein, iron etc. I always have my iron even over recommended amounts, same with protein. Recommended amount of protein for females is between 40-50g/day so we really don't need that much, and to much is harmful for health

+Mystee Prince We get so much protein from every food. Protein is the one nutrient people are concerned about in the western world but should not be. Ever heard of kwashiorokor? That is the scientific name for protein deficiency but no one even knows it.

Going to give this a go. A while back I started trying to hit the plant based diet but lost focus. It did make me feel better though while doing it so after seeing this I'm going straight back on it. Don't know if anyone has noticed but I also observed while having a plant based diet that my bank ballance got better? Probably why the conventional GP might not be plugging this. Not so much money to go round for them when people are healthy as we get to keep our hard earned cash. Really appreciate this video.

Don't just stop at rice. There are sooo many grain choices out there: farro, amaranth, barley, millet, teff, buckwheat, spelt, bulgur, sorghum, wheatberry. Try them all !!!!! They each have their own nutrition to add for a healthy body and brain.

HELP NEEDED: I have been following Dr esselstyn diet for over two years, hitting LDL of 43mg/dl, total cholesterol 85mg/dl. But my lipoprotein A is much higher than recommended level. This got me really worried as there is a direct correlation between Cardiovascular disease and Lipoprotein A, what do I do? How comes the plant based diet not having any affect on lipoprotein A?

My Kaiser Doctor turned me onto Esselstyn and Dean Ornish as having the answers to reversing heart disease and i found Esselstyn's ideas to be outstanding and of real value. I pass this information onto my stubborn brother but There an old saying, "You can lead a horse to water (but you can't make him/it drink). My youtube parrot videos get more interest than these lectures but know that Dr. Esselstyn is not about "fake news". He is the real deal on reversing heart disease and preventing heart disease.
