No shit, awesome man! Your name looks kinda familiar like maybe I seen it on the Bio of Vile. I got to meet Mike like 7 years ago at an Exhumed show. He knew of me and we shot the shit for a while, super cool dude! Thanks a lot for being here, keep safe!
@@KevinFrasard ya me and mike went to high school together. after vile I went to Deeds of flesh and got Mike in that band about 3 yrs later. cool that you know him
Nice work. A quick way to sand a fretboard (with the frets still in it) is just take your 220 grit and fold it over a razor blade, or even a credit card. Then you have something to hold onto keeping with the grain. Thanks for another video keeping us all focused on something other than the stupid news. \m/
You are the scariest looking dude, but the look you gave when you said "I'm always watching ola" was such a pure human moment, you can tell how much you enjoy Ola content. Ola is the man Pretty cool
I never cared for the look of rosewood- its ok in some contexts but maple and ebony are much cleaner imo. I've done this to a few of my rosewood fingerboards, makes the guitar look a lot slicker
That crate has something wrong with it, but it was given to me by my buddy who doesn't play anymore. It's currently a coaster and tripod for cameras haha
@@KevinFrasard lol i seen it in the background and was like "damn, the nostalgia" lol they sound horrible imo but will always be a reminder of where i started lol great video man, lookin forward to seein the end result on that neck.
You should reach out to Ola and see if you can get an endorsement, you fit the bill. He mostly looks for people in touring bands or people online who have a following, consider it man!
I found out that using the edge of a card to wrap the sandpaper around helps tremendously, you have a lot more control and reach with it and it's easy to get close to the fret
I swear you upload the things I need WHEN I need them. And sometimes I didn't even know I needed this. But I have a matte black LTD FRX-701 and the light wood on the neck has always bothered me. But I didn't know it bothered me until I found out just now that I can darken it. But it really does subconsciously bother me... if that makes sense. Thanks, bro.
I stained a board without sanding first and all the stain eventually came off, on my fingers, a little at a time. Looks like rosewood again. Wish I knew about the sanding. I subbed, love hacking into guitars too!
I love your channel Kevin, there's an honesty about your Channel that I really like! I live in Kentucky now but I grew up in Michigan in Dearborn Heights. So shout out to a fellow Michigander!
Dude, yer a dad😯? You gotta be like the most badass dad ever!🤘 What if modified the silver fret bars to like a gold color or something on one of the black guitars, thought it'd look sic
Nah not yet, I actually screwed up a little by not storing the ebony. It sat for a couple months and I totally missed that. You guys will see as I release the rest of the process how this turned into not only an extended process, but also the amount of fun I had getting it to look kickass.
💪HULK is repairing a guitar ... That is Cool Man ... Keep Doing Videos like this ... and Don't Forget to Burp in each Video I found great Infos in this Video thank you Man
Heyo from west Australia, Amazing video as always mate. Keep it up we all love it (also I appreciate you doing the work on your own guitar not just giving it in to shop)
Thank you man! This is a great way to keep my mind off of what's going on out there, and at the same time I learn something and just get to have fun while doing all of this. Really glad that you enjoy the content, be safe out there!
@Kevin Frasard when you applied the stain, did you remove the locking nut? I’m thinking about doing this to my guitars for a show I have coming up on the 22nd and I’d like to have this done ideally before then. Killer riffs and killer guitars! 😊🤘💪
I remember being scared of you when you had that super shitty cam but man have I learned to respect the crap outa you for lifting to playing fast and confidently
I was thing about doing this to my SLX the other day and this video popped up, perfect timing. Can’t wait to see how it turns out man, the V looks awesome!
I've used black leather dye before and the result was amazing but I had to shave the binding with a sharp razor since this stuff got everywhere even with taped off binding.
i did my drumset with that same stain and finished with full gloss varithane polyerothane and i couldn't believe the end result i surprised myself great products (oil base)
hello kevin. besides being a big fan of yours, I'm also a metal lover. I would like to start playing the guitar. but I'm 20 years old. am i too old? is there an age to start? Also great vid love the soloist. cheers from italy👋🏻
Jhon Papa I started at 22 and I am slowly getting familiar with it all. Just look up Guitar tabs to songs and try to copy it. Start with slow easy songs
im 21 and i started two and a half years ago, now that i have adapted well to the instrument i can do cool shit and every day i have more flow when improvising
Thanks for this! There are only two types of this brand where I live. The varathane classic penetrating oil based stain AND varathane ultimate oil based stain. Which one should I get??
I've watched so many videos about ebonizing and you all make it look so easy. I'm still scared that I'll screw it up so I haven't done it yet. God I want my fretboard to be black so bad.
Can I do the same with Pau Fero? I got a sweet new Dean ML Guitar in white, and a dark fretboard would look so much cooler than the chocolate milk color
Being in shape and taking care of my body will always be a part of my lifestyle, but my desire to compete again just isn't there right now. I'm having too much fun and enjoyment with music again. Really at this stage, I can enjoy the fruits of my labor and just maintain what I spent so many years earning. I'm mentally burned out from all of that, but I wouldn't change a thing. It has gotten me to where I am today, and as a bonus reward I have so many cool people like yourself supporting me and motivating me to keep doing what I love. Seriously, you guys have no idea how much it means to me! You guys kick ass!
Wow, that’s amazing, I never thought how it’s done. Thanks man for this video. A question tho, did you notice any change to the tone after you played it? That’s interesting to know.
Because I can brah😉. I don't like the Rosewood look much, especially on that color. Youll see in the upcoming videos why i wanted to do this. I went through some trials and tribulation, but it came out great! Thanks so much for watching man, hope all is well👍
@@KevinFrasard ,is it for speed?would that make much difference.yeah im in the uk ,probably thinking the same as you....why is everyone buying toilet roll hahaha
