These forest (in Cities) should be designed in such a way, that when the massive monsoon rains come every year, they can act as a water dump/reserve for all the water that has no where to go on the streets. Not only increasing the water table, but also acting as a water dump which is good for the forest.

To make Lahore greener you need to stop polluting, to feed the citizens you need fruit trees, to solve the air pollution you need 2 Lahores with forests. You need hedges and flowers as well. You need to reduce cars, expand trains, more bicycles, less mopeds. Electric cars and a lot of garbage cans in the streets, it is not only trees, it is a lot more.
this is like half true because the air quality is very bad in lahore with smog , if "51 forests were planted in the city ; their would be better air quality !
