アウル as long as the barks off that should last awhile just something my uncle taught me once it’s cut from a tree and if the bark on there to long it will start decomposing the wood.
First off i love your work and effort. Now.... Not to be bitchy but that patio section makes it really easy for predators/birds of prey to land right in front of the doorstep. That door opening being so large and low in the box, doesn't help either. Lastly, having placed it only a few feet above the ground will deminish your chance of getting a bird to feel safe in that box. I'm writing this as feedback, not to be an a-hole. Best regards.
Nice ! But so much work for nothing, Is this supposed to be a decoration? if not, then: how to clean, hole too low, if a bird makes a nest, it will have to go up the stairs, and the predator has easy access, So much effort for nothing,
