This method still works in 2022 but the profit is slow and low. In my experience in around 2 months my ROI is around 55%, that's not bad considering it's mostly passive gain.

Don't get fooled people, just because someone is selling something for a high price, doesn't mean people are necessarily buying it. In fact, they might not even be that popular

I know that this video is old, but this really isn't a good strategy. The only time selling booster packs will make you a profit, is when they are for very obscure games in low quantities. Because these games are so obscure, there is virtually no demand, and your pack will never sell. Also, even if you somehow knew for sure that you would be able to sell the booster pack, there are sales restrictions that severely limit the profitability of selling booster packs. Valve makes it so you have to wait an entire week before selling the pack, and given the erratic nature of the steam market, your booster pack could steeply drop in value by the time that week is up, causing you to lose money.

Please just leave this up for the rest of the day and take it down. This is too precious.

There are online tracking tools so there are no large discrepencies between booster packs and cards any longer. This video's info is outdated, so do not expect to make much. Also, screwing over friends for high gem value items is a bad idea. Also, booster packs have about 1/3 the foil drop rate that normal drops give. So mining foils by generating packs is a bad return.

Great idea. It depends how the market prices play out, and also the way you get the emocotions and backgrounds - in worst scenario you have to buy everything.

Dis is how i made cents 1. go to tremor games 2. get some coins 3. spend it on some tf2 items like Genuine stuff 4. get the item from the bot 5. see how much they are worth on steam market. 6. sell it 7. wait a while or maybe a day. 8. done u got cents now to buy trading cards and other things

So basically......you exchange your stuff for gems, and buy a pack that might contain something that can be sold for steam wallet cash and purchase it for them

There is just one question.... Who would buy a card pack for over 6$ from a game that no one plays?

I guess this method is higly dependant from the market's status. at this point 1000 gems are selling for 0,86€ but most of the booster packs sell for 0,15-0,30

Botters are systematically buying up all the items that would be profitable from geming, making the price of gem sacks creep continuously high and 3 cent items rise in price. The 0 effort way to make money is to buy sacks today or gem everything this moment and hold it for a year. From the winter sale to today, sacks is up by 40 cents already.

If you buy 7 emotes that are 10 cents, it adds up to 70 cents, and 700 gems of course. Why do that when you can buy a sack of gems (1000 gems) off the market, for 70 cents?

First of all, you need to buy the game to be able to make packs. And second, not all booster packs you make are tradable. For instant, AC Origins I can only make in the untradable version.

why would people buy booster packs for that price when they can make them for a cheaper price like buying a sack of gems then turning it into a booster pack.

why do people do this? What's weirder, is it seems like a very low level game of sorts, on what is effectively a platform for hundreds of fantastic real games. I have 2 Insurgency trading cards( Machinegunner, Fighter and Support)....and steam wants me to turn them into gems...and somehow they cost really low....0.04...WTF

Exchange your gems for a card pack nobody will buy for more than 30 cents. It doesn't help that most packs sell at a rate of 1-3 per day. Check the market and you'll see people trying to sell $10-100 card packs for unknown games nobody cares about getting cards for. Not sure how this is suppose to generate any form of profit at all.

I could sell a background for 1 dollar. And only make it into 80 gems... I'll go with selling the damn thing.

So what's the point of doing all this stuff? Because i was under the impression that all that money is stuck in your wallet and you can't withdraw it. So basically you just play a game called market and farm money for continuing playing or buy games. I fail to see how this can be a way to add to your monthly income and buy palpable irl stuff.

I don't really get in which way you make profit out of that, the prices you showed are way overrated, cause the quantity was way too low. And for the trading a 10gems emoticon for a 100gems emoticon that got the same price, first you need to have that emoticon... Then if you do 100*8=80cts for a sack of gems, higher than the sell price, and since the booster pack/trading cards prices are irrelevant...
