can you use other mics with transmitters? Is this better quality than vimo Q4? I am new to this world and found myself in this twilight zone of wireless mic systems and evil brands (cough*Shure) when my wired cheap lav mic took a crap
Hey man, no problem! We all sometimes fall down the gear rabbit hole sometimes haha. In my demo, you'll see I used the transmitters onboard mic, then the comica lav that came with it and third I used a cheap knockoff brand lav mic as well. they all sounded fairly well to me. Now, I'm not sponsored by anybody so I only know how these perform and I haven't used the Vimo Q4 before. From a quick google search, it looks pretty cool, you get 4 mics, which is fantastic, but there isn't any onboard recording features to the transmitters themselves. That was something I was looking for specifically and why I opted for the BoomX-D PRO's. In todays time, most mics are really well build and have good audio quality. In post-production, we are getting insane cleanup and EQ tools which makes it even better and cleaner. So At this point, look at what you need, what your budget is, and buy something that will cater for your situation because the audio quality all around is fairly good.
