That’s true (which is why Dark Blue properties are only the second most valuable property group, behind Orange, and that most people don’t pull hotels in the Dark Blue ones). However, this makes this particular game all the more hilarious and unorthodox since all opponents bankrupted to Jerome by the Dark Blue properties.

You have to be extremely lucky if you are banking on it. While the rents are insane, the chances of opponents landing are very low. So low that most seasoned players trade Boardwalk for an orange or aqua property, to increase likelihood of landing. Plus, most games become low income games anyways, so more common properties bring bang for your buck. With that being said, if your luck is by your side, a blue property is gonna be an automatic scramble mode for the opponents.
