This machine has been on my radar for a while. I've been looking into making mini split wood and have been doing it on a small scale. Will wait to see if people buy it before I invest in a machine for it. Nice machine though.
I don't know if the blade can be set as low as this, but on the back you can set the height the blade of the axis returns to when you release the pedal. That would also make operating the axis for these small pieces a lot safer.
Yes I understand the stroke limiter square shaft. It limits travel for logs 🪵 ~ 14” to 24” and I have her bottomed out. I can also start and stop the wedge at will by holding my foot steady on the foot pedal so I am perfecting my technique. I might ask Andrew for a modified rod…. Thanks for watching and commenting also!
What about scoring a line where the blade comes down exactly at the table so you know not where to put your fingers amd where exactly where to put your cut-offs?
I don’t want to say bad stuff but, I’m worried you’re going to cut a finger off holding onto those little splits. Looks very unsafe to me. I think you’re one distraction away from a severed limb. Be safe & pay attention to what you’re doing.😕
I hear👂what ur saying…. The mini splits aren’t a big seller so far, so I’m perfecting my techniques and holding the chunks with 2 fingers will take some practice. I certainly wouldn’t want to “rush” this process. Thanks for watching!
