Laptop, first mpk mini, no interface through the surround sound receiver with any and every speaker you got... I've had a very similar setup. That vibe is priceless.
This video proves that it's not about the fancy equipment you have, but how you use what you have. I hope by now Lil dude got some paper for that track, and is now able to do the necessary upgrades to his set up. I congratulate him tho.
+Jacob Girard what and where is his fancy equipment? His midi controller is less than $100 and he's using computer speakers for monitoring. His whole setup is probably less than a thousand dollars, including the laptop. But as I said, it's not what you have, but how you use it. ✌
yung carter is my homie...rich homie did some fuck shit but my bro still gettin it in! and thats all the equipment he need...he made a hit record in basement...how much yu made...ill wait...
***** im not saying that he NEEDS expensive equipment im saying he SHOULD get it. you don't see mike will made it or dr,dre with that type of equipment
something pharell said that i took note of ''start small because a huge studio will overwhelm you, plus having little will make you strive for more, '' ps I'm sure i got some of the quote wrong but thats the idea lol oh and get that music theory for dummies pdf shit is doing wonders for me
John Doe Yo what'd he pull? The way I look at the rap industry is that the producers are key, and the rappers should be bowing down to us. People can listen to instrumentals on their own, no one can listen to an acapella on it's own. Lets face it; rappers NEED US more than we need THEM. They don't know about musical theory, they don't spend days and days fine tuning notes and synths so it sounds musically correct, they don't know shit. They act like they're the shit but they're the most stupid people you could ever meet and they think that they're doing YOU a favor by fucking up your beautiful music composition by injecting lyrics about drugs, cocaine, and fucking bitches. As far as I'm considered, Yung Carter should sue him and get his paper because without him, Rich Homie Quan would've NEVER gotten mainstream attention. This beat was the key to the song's success (via the catchy synth and the inspiration it gave Quan)
***** Bro, he wasn't referring to it literally, you're taking his comment the wrong way. He was saying that Rich Homie Quan is making a fuck-ton of money while this dude didn't get anything in return (saying he doesn't have good eq to make beats off of wasn't meant to be taken literally, it was meant in the context that rich homie quan got a lot of notoriety and money while Yung Carter is still stuck with the same shit he started with) even after he brought success to Quan because like every other rapper, he's greedy and didn't care to help his producers.
Thing is, this dude got the bases DOWN. I donno if he studied music or not, but contrarily to Mustard and all those wack dudes, this guy has some melodies, the right energy, the right progression, the right arrangement, the right effects. This beat wasn't cookie cutter shit, and Quan can thank him for the song's success. Hope he got PAID.
DHumphrey_AMP ever since this comment I've heard a lot of Mustard stuff that's far better produced, so my respect for him doubled. Mustard is cool. This is still another league - this dude has NOTHING and he still put together a huge hit.
I totally agree, I feel like simple drum bass beat makers like DJ Mustard are connected and got an opportunity based on politics. Now this guy, I respect.
***** or. . .if he's a smart artists, he'll see the value in the producer, which means that he will give him an honest cut--otherwise you think youngcarter is dumb enough to produce for him again? i think not. .
***** i guess that's my point tho gangsta. If RHQ isn't giving carter his fair share, carter won't re-produce for him. So is it really in RHQ interest? Prolly not. altho. . .on the flip side, i don't know much about RHQ and his popularity prior to this release, but perhaps carter wud be a nobody if it wasn't for RHQ label--so there's a lot to consider on both ends imo
damn i remember watching all these beatmaking videos back in 2013-2014 (i've prod for taylor gang and all the new chicago drill legends now) shoutout big carter for this classic
See we producers have this thing about us. Its like a love for the beat we made and people just chew our stuff up and spit it out - no respect - no love - no recognition and when we make an artist rich not even a thank you - eff the game
I love hearing the stories behind the beats from producers, and how they got to the artists, it's crazy because alot of times the producer don't even be thinking they gonna become hit records
It's 2023 now and you showed me that even with an arturia mini I can create sick a** melodic beats. Thanks bro. If you ever have the time. I'd love to know the instruments u used to create that background sound. I'd love to make music like that, specifically for liminal space music.
Watching this made me tear up man.. the dedication and love this young brotha has for music and his craft is inspiring. Not once did he say anything wanting to get paid. And then scrolling thru looking at the comments of love from the viewers. Do what you love regardless of anything else!
Yung Carter got 34 haters feelin some type of way..haha!! Beat bangs keep it Lit playa... Dr.Dre said it best "It dont matter about the equipment,it depend on the nigga thats working it"
When I put two tens in my dually the first damn song I played was this one to test the low notes...and to hear those trumpets/horns.......it resonated the hell outa the cab and I fell in love with it...such a good prod man.
2021..his melodies inspired me. 2012 is when I started learning... Self-Made producer who has a brilliant ear for music. It's all about the ear... He had/has it!!! #2021 #YungCarter
Solute to this young this young man for taking time out to show the world his Work Flow Number One. Number two a friend told me a long time ago it's not about what gear you have it's how you use it. The fact that he gave this track to his cousin first and he passed on a banger. The fact somehow Rich Homie Quan got his hands on it and made it a hit. The fact that everyone he knows gave him props for this hit probably took this young man by surprise. Now that he knows he's capable of making hits it's business time. So Yung Carter start looking for a manager and go register your business Copyright & Trademark whatever works best for you. Now it's time you live off what you do at this point it's not a hobby anymore sir!! Solute Do What You Do! Greasy I'm Gone!
Goes to show it dont matter what you make yo shit on.. my guy right there using a home surround sound speaker system and made a fuckin classic! #beasting
4:23 - 4:38 ... When he knows what's coming up in the beat and then when the beat drops he does that sort of fist pump... Shit looks so waveyyyy.. proper in time for the beat n shit
