Delve Why would you ever install it,after you play it one time, there's so much better games around, and you people are stuck in skyrim after fkn 7 years, smh.
Not trying to ruin anything men, just i don't understand people being obsessed with skyrim,or any particular game, and by that i mean to play that game over and over again,i understand coming back to game after some period of time passed, because you really want to play it again, but having it installed all the time, that's just depressing sorry not trying to be rude :/ P.S i don't know how old are you,but you can get yourself pc pretty cheap, specially if you build it(what i did) that is if you have some income,or can spare some money over time.
I played Skyrim when it came out in 2011,i don't know how you deducted that, from few words i have put in my comment, just because i don't like it so much,it doesn't mean anything, game was good for one play trough, and that's about it,i did all side quests, got all the weapons i like, armors, did all guilds,so yeah i had fun and that was it.
I have been playing it for 5 years pretty consistently. I stopped around 2015 and then bought it on PC and now every month or so I come back to it for a few days and add more mods to it and play through it in different ways. Everytime I play the game I find something new about it I didn't even notice even though I have probably too many hours in it.
Get some mods, mate. I have been playing this game for almost 8 years now. Texture mods, animation mods, Location mods, weapons & Armor mods, new quest mods, etc will make your Skyrim re playable for years. 👍
Agree. I had to mod it heavily though with graphics mod to make it modern. Feels like the game was released in 2018. My son was introduced to it for the first time. He is 16. he loves it so far and we both sit down and play it together on my pc.
It's almost been 11 years... I spent tons, and tons, and tons of hours playing this game and I still thing there's nothing out there more impressive than Skyrim.
It was Christmas Day 2012. I opened one of my presents, it was Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim. Me and my brother went upstairs with our gifts. I turned on our Xbox 360, took out Bionic Commando and put Skyrim in. It installed. Once it started...My life changed.
Anyone remember the unveiling of Skyrim ,spike tv I think it was ,back in -10. Goosebumps Man how I love this game. And I was late to the party ,mainly played sports games ,but this got me so hooked. Just upgraded it to the series S/X standard ,and doing my 2nd play through as we speak ,nice and easy ,exploring every inch of the map
37:20 - 'It does feel like we've been working on it for 20 years' - This will be 5 years short of true when Elder Scrolls 6 comes out some time around 2026.
I have so much respect for all these people. I was just playing Skyrim and when I checked the time on steam it said that my current session has been going for 440 minutes! Not many games can make me forget real life exists 😆
I have sympathy for people who weren't able to experience the insane pre-release hype for Skyrim and then the feeling of playing it for the first time in 2011. Even so many years later, it still feels like such a behemoth of a game. There was Skyrim and then GTA V a couple years later, and it seemed like gaming would only get better. But then all we seemed to get was regression. Witcher 3, Breath of the Wild, and Elden Ring are the only games that I can truly say have pushed against the mediocrity but there was never any game that made me feel as hopeful for the future as Skyrim.
For me, these game makes a new video game Era really possible. Life goes beyond just killing, taking enemies heart out, or even getting to the main goal. In life everything matters,in its own proportion and Skyrim broke through with an excellent vision and work. These opens the pad for games were the ways of achieving or experiencing will be more unique, more close to your wishes up to what the game offers.
Different abilities, challenges, or just decide to watch the rain fall as in live you can. A great surprise to find this game and a spark of the possibility of making video games the 8th art in some future perhaps!
The special edition (PS5 version especially) does some heavy lifting nowadays compared to the base version like in this video. Environment looks so dull compared to the “new” release. Unironically thankful they kept releasing new versions. Edit: 28:37 played this for the first time in years recently, the moment in bleak falls did indeed stick out to me. The “first” main boss fight in the game. Beautiful stuff, that whole dungeon has graduated from tedious to nostalgic.
Characters of the most recent elder scrolls. Morrowind: Legs of fucking steel. Oblivion: Do you mind? I'm currently doing the fish stick. It's a very delicate state of mind! Skyrim: AWESOME IMMORTAL DUDE WITH FORCE POWERS.
The one think I like to know, was that did they have to look up Viking history to put things like Trolls, Hags, and most importantly Drauge's in the game
On its release back in the days i was too young to play it so i just played the main quests and some side quests. now (2024) i reinstalled it and can really say what a Masterpiece it is, im halfway through the game and it seems endless. Love it, hate the glitches tho 😅
I really hope Elder Scrolls 6 is better than Skyrim! I love Skyrim one of my favories in the franchise its still behind Oblivion for me but if they knock it out of the park with 6 then i think ES6 will be my new favorite
It seems like games during that time were made with unbridled passion and creativity, like they made it because they wanted to, not because they wanted to make more money or milk their audience with microtransactions and greedy tactics.
If ES VI can get close to Oblivion's Sewer Exit...it'll be a clap to Bethesda. I don't mind it but I don't think coming out of the Helgen underground was anything close to that.
Mata MacNeachdainn Well, you ARE the Dragonborn and it is kinda good to feel the power after you get further in the game. Oblivion and Fallout 3 did the scaling up of your enemies so that you never really felt like a hero with top notch gear.
vavra222 Well, I prefer that. It's more realistic and more of a challenge. I wish Skyrim and other TES games were realistic. For example, a Steel Sword would be more effective than a Daedric Sword.
Mata MacNeachdainn Wait what? First things first - how can be steel better than a fictional, demonic material? Second thing - it is a fantasy game so Bethesda can basically do whatever they want. Seriously, do you smoke some shit or what?
Mata MacNeachdainn Oh, i see that you watch Skallagrims videos as well, i see how you think now, but TES series are FANTASY rpg games therefore realistic proportions and shape doesnt really matter. It would just make things a bit more boring, i think.
vavra222 It may take away some fun aspects (leveling up your gear), but it would be more challenging and challenge you based on skill, something that should be required in Skyrim's combat. You would have to choose between a greatsword or a mace, instead of Ebony or Daedric.
Truly sad that you had a blueprint for game companies to emulate and produce a decent product. Even the great games lacked the raw talent Bethesda implemented within this world. Nothing touches the crafting system. Nothing touches the magic system. Nothing touches the lore. Truly a sad developmental history in the past decade for RPGs
