I love Emily Blunt, but Chaske Spencer made this movie truly great. He is a wonderful actor, and I hope to see him in more roles as the leading man. Yay, Chaske!
Totally .agree. He was mesmerising in this. You could not take your eyes off him. How he conveyed so much emotion with just tiny gestures and expressions. His comic timing was spot on too. And those "huh" moments...magic.
I am deeply moved by this series and these characters. I first watched the show about a year ago, but rewatched it a week ago and now I keep returning to watch my favorite scenes. It's all about the chemistry between Eli and Cornelia, supremely acted out by Chaske and Emily. Rarely have I seen such great acting. It sucked me in and left me feeling as though I lived through a deeply personal experience for both characters. You can really feel how much respect and love both actors had for their roles. I must also say that Cornelia Locke is probably one of the most beautifully written characters I've ever experienced. As a viewer, you can't help but feel an enormous respect for her. I think one of my favorite smaller bits in the show is when she rides into the Kills On Water Compound, throws Black Eyed Mog's glasses on the ground and says she's come for Eli Whipp. It would have been so easy to get that scene wrong, to make it feel cheesy or over the top, but somehow it really works and feels incredibly powerful. Ugh, I could talk on and on about how amazing this show is. The writing, the acting, the cinematography, the costuming. Superb ❤
Thoroughly enjoyed this series. I was at times standing ringing my hands & shouting at the TV “shoot em again”to be honest. I’m really struck by the fact that these two people found each other whose tragic past revolved around the same men…well done all!
Just the most exquisite, beautiful love story ever told - anywhere, anytime. The chemistry between Cornelia and Eli was so powerful it could fire a Saturn V rocket and take you to the stars. It's an utter masterpiece. Emily knows it.
@@xchristinex001 I'll never stop shouting about this series from the rooftops and telling people to watch it. If you have a tender heart it will never, ever leave you. Something in the universe shifted profoundly when Cornelia and Eli locked eyes.
@@louisekerr2702 Couldn't agree more. Just watched the entire thing 2 nights ago. It's going to take me months to process and get over it... and I think you know what I mean.
Yip. And... the more you watch it, the deeper into it you fall. All the clues are there from the beginning, they only make sense on a re-watch. Seven levels of cleverness from Hugo Blick.@@austinado16
